Sound And Silence
#
When you see a smiling face
You smile back and just live on.
The moment there's a tear's trace,
Your comfort it has won.
#
What makes people think
The crying eye needs comfort more?
Why is it so hard to blink
And look beyond a closed door?
#
Tears express the pain we feel
And spill out all emotions;
Tears will help the wounds to heal,
Better than all cures and potions.
#
Silence is, however, nourishment.
It feeds the pain and bleeding heart.
And as the final punishment,
There's just ignorance on society's part.
#
One cries for your attention.
One hides in silent, pained pretension.
Which one is the louder call?
Which one's closer to the fall?
#
Sometimes a look behind the mask
Can reveal a comforter's true task.
