Trembling on the floor; in which you cannot reminisce upon things that hurt
You find yourself having nightmares about things you pushed behind that locked door
But they surface and you drown
Attempting for apathy but such dispositions never work
You've found that throughout the years you grow and learn
But you also know that you're still just a child and you're not yet worldly
Because you're the biggest star in your own sky
The messiah, the advocate, the devil wrapped up in the form of a college student
And as you write papers and gain knowledge and feel like your retaining
Your really not
And you're still scared that maybe this future isn't as easy as you make it to be in your mind
But the future hasn't been determined yet
And you'll grasp at those you hold dear
Because all those trials, says that band you listen to in your itunes,
It just makes us who we are.
