It's A Sin To Cage A Mockingbird, Too
-
Never mine to gratify,
Never mine to raise,
Never mine to discipline,
Never mine to praise;
They drift away a little more with every passing year.
They were never children when I met them Yet ducklings they became.
All birds fly away someday, unless caged they be,
And I could never hurt them so.
Fly away, then, and leave me;
It is a far better thing I do to set you free.
Lord, what fools these mortals be!
