The Reunion

The sun had just set, Haruko walked down the poorly lit cobblestone path to the Scarlet Horse, the inn where he was staying at. Slowly and carefully he walked, turning at every little sound he heard. Checking to see if someone was following him. He reached the corner of the crossroad, taking a left to the inn. Now the street lamps stopped, the cobblestone path turned into a dirt road, with only the light of the moon to light his path. As Haruko wandered down the dirt road he heard a rustle in the bushes from behind him. He turned around and peered into the darkness of the night seeing nothing he continued to walk.

Chi had been following the older man since he left the local pub, The Demon's Wing. She knew the scent of him, as soon as he came out, Chi was so happy to see him but she didn't want to scare him away. Oh, how she carefully stalked him, like a wolf going for a deer. Seeing him walking reminded her of when they were together and she was alive. Oh my dearest love. . .I miss you so much. Chi said to herself as she continued to follow Haruko. He turned around and she hid in the shadows of the darkness. She watched him, quietly slipping back when he would turn around.

Haruko reached the inn, he walked into the main room and asked the innkeeper for his key. He walked up the stairs, through the hall to his room. As he reached for the door, he heard a noise behind him. He turned around and found Chi. She smiled at him as he turned back to open the door to his room. She followed him silently and took the key from the lock and put it in her pocket. Locking the door she turned back to him, cornering him against the stone wall on the side
