Questionnaire
1. Be very wary however with PublishAmerica. I have a very good friend who has been published by them and has had some problems and gets very very little from her work while the company gets a LOT of money from her work.
Skitz: Yes, I know. The author earns 8% of the first 2000 copies sold, 25% of the following 4000, and 50% of the next 6000. They are the ones who put their own money out to get EVERYTHING done for your book, they need to make their money back someway. The auhor pays them absolutely nothing. I've gone over the contract and everything in it is reasonable. I've read through the scam articles on them, and everything in those things have been either misunderstandings or jaded comments if you contrast their complants to the contract. So it's all good. For now.
And for now is over and I'm getting ticked at the wait for the cover art to come through. But it's okay (sorta) because if they breach the contract, I get my story back and could publish with whoever I want.
2. I was just wondering if you knew any other writers that write mafia/romance?
Skitz: Not that I know of. But I'm sure there's someone out there who will recommend? Hint hint, nudge nudge, people?
