She was sitting on a bench

She was sitting on a bench
Early morning, In the city park
There were tear stains on her cheek
A night of innocent fun
Turned into a big mistake
And unheard words are tossed in the wind
And a comforting hand is turned away

Though he may not be seen
And though he may not be heard
God is watching over us at every turn
So don't let one mistake bring you down
Because you're bound to make many
And you're destined to fall
But as long as you keep living
God will help you through it all

He makes his way down town
No room for him at home
With torn clothes and a gun in his pocket
He stops on a bridge as the lights go down
And he looks down in the water
And sees who he has been

He turns to walk away
And the gun falls from his pocket
Yet he doesn't even notice

Though he may not be seen
And though he may not be heard
God is watching over us at every turn
So don't let one mistake bring you down
Because you're bound to make many
And you're destined to fall
But as long as you keep living
God will help you through it all

A poor man sits at the edge of a busy street
Yet the people just walk on by
But one hard working mother
With 3 mouths at home to feed
Gives him her weeks pay
And a smile forms on his face

A girl with braces on her teeth
And glasses on her face
Goes home and cries herself to sleep
She's been told she isn't pretty
Yet when she looks at her reflection
She finds herself laughing

Though he may not be seen
And though he may not be heard
God is watching over us at every turn
So don't let one mistake bring you down
Because you're bound to make many
And you're destined to fall
But as long as you keep living
God will help you through it all
