Midnight Cry

The midnight moon moaned,

as in the forest someone crawled.

Her white veil dress was stained,

higly strained

her rosy face rained.

--

Puffy eyes gazed the sky,

a shiny star mocked her cry.

'I love you no more

Now I feel only abhore!'

--

Those cruel words left her

no peace, she saw only

the blood on the sheet.

Sheer

terror filled her eyes,

his stern face made her cry.

--

Sobs escaped her lips,

blood drained from her hips.

She was far from home,

alone,

and found no friend, oh no.

--

The star was shining

but she was still whining

about sweet lullabies

and precious memories.

--

'He promised me the world,

but gave me no truthful word.

Now I have even no pillow,

but an ancient, hard willow.'

--

'Let it go,' cried the star,

he felt some pity after a while.

She lifted her eyes in disbelief,

no-one ever interrupted her grief.

--

'It was a misdeed

you did together, indeed

but once betrayed, you won't make

the same mistake.'

--

'After some wine

you no longer whine.

In what your grief is embedded,

think about it,' he added.

--

The girl stared at the sky

but heard no voice, let out no cry.

She stood up, gazed at the star

and let her face grow a smile.

--

'Imagining things like amiable stars,

It must be fever, it must be high.

Once in the castle, I no longer suffer.

People will murmur

'he killed her'.

A/N: Poetry is not for me, there are only a few poems I like. This bit was written for my Literature seminar. Thanks for reading.
