It's so hard
to be around you
without touching you.

A hand on the
back,
brush your hair into
place,
stroke your pale
arm.

The only thing I can do
to fight my urge
is to get as far

away

from you
as I possibly can.

I can't look you in
your sky blue eyes
and not have the urge
to lean over and kiss
those rose colored lips
that now kiss no one.

I can't understand
how you distance
yourself,
so fast and
so easily.

You make it look
like it takes no effort.

When I sit next to you I'm
Fighting
on the inside
Hurting
on the inside
Being torn apart
from the longing
to reach out to you.

When I sit next to you I'm
Smiling
on the outside.
Laughing
on the outside.
Being torn apart
from the longing
to kill the pain inside.

I just want to
touch your soft skin
kiss your soft lips.

It feels as if my heart
is being ripped to
shreds.

How can you stand it?
