My Brother

Some say that siblings are annoying

And that they aren't great.

Well, whenever they say that to me

I gladly say that's a lie.

Because I've been blessed

To have you as my brother

And I know that you're the best thing in my life right now.

Because despite the huge age gap

You're the first one their for me.

You always ask my opinion

On how you dress, act, say, and do.

And you always want me to go and see your moves

As you swiftly run down the football field for another touchdown.

Life gets a little crazy

And tough times, we've had a few.

But I know I'll always see you

Standing next to me with your boyish grin

Wanting to get out and toss a ball

Or go on a mile or two jog.

I may call you crazy

And we may have some fights

But in the end that doesn't seem to matter.

Because I always end up with you at my side

At the end of the night

Saying that you love me

And it will all be alright.

Because no matter if all my friends betray me

You'll always be there.

And all I need to pull me through
