All hail the Queen of Solipsism!

I have the crown and sceptre - I am the Law.

Yet some nights I pull up my skirts,

wade into the ocean, and when I look back

I’m still standing on the shore.

My iris holds the universe. My body is a map

and you, explorer, are to learn that

these waters are not in fact uncharted.

Cartographer, make me whole.

I am paper-thin but I am your consort.

Ne me quitte pas, I say, floating on

the ocean in the palm of your hand.

And if you could speak the language

of the body, you would understand.
