The creature quickly dashed toward a group of college students and slashed open the stomachs of three of them. It then circled around into the back of buildings where only screams could be heard. I quickly searched around and realized that, while injured, very few people had been killed. In fact other then the three students it just killed there were only five deaths. “Its toying with us” I murmurer to myself. I searched around one last time and found Zach knocked to the ground, but he didn't have a scratch on him.

“Zach you have to listen to me, Zach” He simply stood there in shock. I didn't have time for this. If I couldn't get this information to him, then my death will be for nothing. “Zach!”

“Whats going on?” he said as he slowly began to come to.

“Listen, don't ask how I know this, but that, thing, is part of something called The Oculot. They have worked in secrecy in the past and only now are starting to come out of hiding. You have to warn people that there is no way we can fight The Oculot head on. Warn people, tell them they have to find a way to get rid of them. Tell them that they have only three years to...”

I couldn't finish. It happened so fast that I didn't even see it coming. Its claws rushed straight through my body, from my right shoulder blade to the left of my hip, the claws extending further then when I had seen them. The back of its robes tore open as two large bat like wings emerged and lifted me and it off the ground. As we flew farther and farther away, at speeds that defied nature itself, its evil grin slowly faded to a remorseful look of self pity. It slowed and, as I was dieing in its arms told me, “You where wrong. There is so much more to this then you know.”

It gently set me down, in a small cave hundreds of miles away from any city, before it flew away again. Less then a minute later my last bond to my mortal being was severed, my body never to be found.
