Every year we learn something new,

Every year we learn something new,

But every year we lose something too.

A good friend, a good job or a good place to live.

A love, a pet or an old relative.

It seems that for every year we grow,

We’re forced to lose something we know.

We change who we are bit by bit,

And no one seems to give a spit.

We forfeit pieces of who we are,

We give up on our wishing star.

We lose the dreams behind our eyes,

We trade our souls for money and lies.

We forget the things that made us glad.

We give up all the joy we had.

We swap our toys and fairy tales,

For greed, sex, lies and betrayals.

And that’s not really ok you see,

It’s not something I’m willing to be.

If that’s what it takes to be grown up today,

I’ll stay a little kid at least I’m happy this way…

A/N: Written when I saw the monsters my friends had become. Ya know it’s ok to grow older, it’s ok to mature but there’s no reason to grow up and become boring money hungry losers who lives for nothing but power. Well anyways enjoy and R/R laters!!!
