So it rained today and I thought of you.

Your hazel eyes and your red lips too.

Your arms around me under the ash colored sky.

Rain pouring down as we kissed good-bye.

And I thought of your laugh and the way you smile.

I’ve been thinking of you, non-stop, for a while.

I like the way you think and I like the way you sigh.

But I never ever want to see you cry.

I want to take you hiking and out on the town.

I want to get to know you all the way around.

I wanna be there when you graduate and see what eighteen will bring.

I wanna see just how far we can take this thing.

But I’m not in a hurry we can take it slow.

There’s just so much about each other we don’t know.

So let’s enjoy this summer and I’ll see you in the spring.

Then we’ll see what changes our winter alone will bring…
