Fresh Starts Aren't Real
Four-thirty in the morning
And, somehow, sleep eludes me.
In this grand, new place
I wonder, where's the old me?
The things I let go of
Still come floating back.
These gaps in my confidence
Shift
Sending uncertainty new places.
What have I given up,
To come to new places?
Why can't I
Shake these old fears?
