Pride

Have you ever wondered
What goes through my mind?
If you heard my thoughts
Do you know what you would find?

I act strong for my family
Nothing can penetrate me
But inside I’m breaking down
Mental and emotionally

I keep this to myself
Though you ask me to share
I don't want to burden you
I just don't think that's fair

So I carry on smiling
And say it's all okay
I don't want to make a fuss
And lead my friends astray

Please just ignore me
Pretend I don't exist
I am nothing special
I’ll never be missed

So forget I ever spoke
Neglect all that I said
I'll lock up my pain
And keep it in my head

I'll just keep on going
So please ignore my whines
’Cause all my conceitedness
Could be called a crime

You sometimes wonder
What goes through my mind
But forget all my thoughts
Ignore what you might find
