The sun flared unexpectedly, catching his face in a flash of refulgent illumination. Almost tan, the golden waves lured into the curves of his face, leaving him with a much darker appearance. Brown eyes, warm and somehow conveying that eternal forgiveness that was always so undeserved. His hair shimmered light brown and spiky, redolent in its obsequious beauty. His skin looked as if mere touch could burn the caressing digits, so bathed in warm brilliance it was. Skin so smooth, stretching tightly over muscles and bone and shirt left off to expose even more of the browned flesh. Beige shorts, torn off at the knee, adorned his lower half. Feet were bare, leaving large expanses of unblemished skin visible. He looked relaxed, in that moment, crouched on his toes and leaning into the source of light, the cradling warmth. The smile on his face bespoke of the total peace and relaxation he felt with his current life.
“Alexandra,” he called.
The sun’s light dimmed into the low hanging clusters of cumulus clouds as the beauteous female ran lightly over the gentle blades of emerald grass to race into his arms. Her blond locks curled and bent in twisting helices, sliding effortlessly in smooth waves with the gentle breeze created by her short sprint. Eyes, though held in only the slightest of shadows, managed to clearly exemplify their strange magenta hue unique to her family line. Her features were curved and perfectly delicate, molded into a laughing smile. Her skin was three shades darker than what might be called ivory, yet still not dark enough to quite be tanned. Her dress bespoke of a time of darker twilight, smothered in shades of deep red and darker black. A corset ribbon tied the bust of dress, the décolletage of which was bedecked with lace as were the fringes of the sleeves. The skirt billowed out in slow motion poofs behind her in changing shades of the same crimson and black of the bust. Her feet were bare as they pushed slightly at unmoving ground to rise up and meet her lips to her beloved Caleb’s.
“That’s one way to say hello,” he whispered, smiling benignly at her entreating expression.
“Say hello again?” she answered, arranging her lips in an outrageously exaggerated pout for persuasive purposes.
“Hello.” And he leaned his head down to touch her willing lips to his once more.
