A preamble to my Chemistry project. Very well written, if I do say so myself.

A long time ago,
In a land far away,
The element copper
Was discovered, they say.
In the Middle East,
Around 9000 B.C.,
Copper's discovered,
Used often in penny.
It's found in electrics,
It's better than silver.
It's in that girl's bloodstream,
But too much can kill her.
The Statue of Liberty,
And wiring and pots,
Found in the copper mine,
They mine lots and lots.
In group eleven
And period four.
It doesn't shatter
When dropped on the floor.
It's rusty-orange color,
Is hard to the hold.
A transition metal,
Like silver and gold.
Twenty-nine protons
It's symbol's CU
It gets really hot
'fore it turns to goo.
9b in the d-block,
Energy levels are three,
The element copper's
An atom, you see.
A/N: This was written for my chemistry project and almost everything in this poem is true. Copper really is in your bloodstream, but when I said "it's better that silver", that's not true. Copper conducts electricity almost as good as silver. When it talks about group eleven, period four, transition metals and '9b in the d-block', that's talking about the classification of it in the Periodic Table of Elements.
