Continuously dark crying clouds loomed over the tall red pine trees. Water dripped onto my hair, traveled down to the tips, and fell to the ground. Rivers of water raced down my cheeks making me look like im crying. I felt the temperature drop about twenty degrees as I travel deeper into the forest. I continued to walk with my sword clutched in my hand as it remain in it’s sheath. My clothes covered my shoulders, arms, and legs. However, they were too thin to shield me from the icy water. Weeping Forest was the coldest, dampest, dangerous place to be in. Yet, it was the only way out of the village I came from. I was banished not only for my cursed blood, but the mark that laid upon my right hand. I received the curse at the age of four. A bit after the time my mother died. My father left the village after I was born, but never returned. The village despised me so I was isolated on the corner of the highest tree. My village was in the trees to protect themselves from the predators below. Why am I on the ground you ask? Im traveling north. So I can get this damn curse off me and find a place were I could live in peace, away from discrimination.

I wrapped my arms around me desperately trying to keep the heat from leaving my body. I parked myself under one the trees and made some shelter out of twigs and branches. I try to start a fire on the ground. But a single spark did not form. The wood was too damp and the blowing wind would extinguish any flame I made. Huddle in the corner, my teeth chattering, my body shivering. My arms and legs were covered in goosebumps. The temperature maintained its dropping status. The rain froze into tiny ice and piled on the ground. It felt like it was below zero. The only reason im still alive was cause my kind were able to survive harsh conditions. My eyelids slowly begin to fall. I felt like my life was slipping away. It was like death was standing behind me. Slowly weaving my life away from me. I my eyes almost shut closed.

But something…forced me to wake, vibration. It was faint, but I was able to feel it. What I hoped it was getting fainter, but it started to grow. Something was moving and its coming straight towards me. The snow was already ankle high. Which continued to pile. I grabbed my sword and remained in my somewhat of a tent. Watching, waiting, hoping that the thing would just walk by. Boy, my luck just ran out. The vibrations turned into mini earthquakes. Trees rattled forcing the leftover leaves and clusters of snow dropped to the ground. A terrible smell overpowered any scent in the air. I felt it drawing closer and closer to me. My heart was sent racing. I would be sweating if it wasn’t frozen. Just when I thought it was about to rip through the trees and attack. Absolute silence. Nothing…I could hear my heart beat, but that’s it. I peeked my head out and scanned the new empty tundra. I stepped out taking a better view. Whatever it was. It passed. I sighed heavily in relief. I turn back to my hut. Who knew that was my first mistake. The thing rushed out of the snow covered bushes and attack. Tricky little thing. Just waiting for me to turn my back towards it so it would have the element of surprise. I turn to see a club, bigger than I was, coming towards me. I quickly rolled forward dodging the incoming swing. My hands and feet were dragging. Slowly bringing me to a halt. I looked up to see my opponent, and that’s when I wished that the cold have killed me sooner.

The white hair that hung on his face and body, It’s grotesquely long tusk that poked out of his bottom lip, it’s pale blue skin, the husky blood covered body, the smell of different dead things flew towards me with each exhaling breath. My eyes began tear from the smell. It felt like my inner part of my nose was on fire. My lips curled in, breathes become limited, and my stomach turns over. The foe I was facing was none other than an ice troll. One of the dumbest, ugliest, and merciless creature. They had a special skill of making the temperature drop about fifty degrees. He’s the cause of the water turning to snowflakes and piling up. How you ask? They kinda have an instant spell thats drops the temperature. If I don’t do anything quick. I’ll die and be eaten. I drew my sword out it’s sheath and pointed it towards the abomination.

I pulled my sword back and rushed the thing. I slid to one side of it and swung my sword. I just wish I was faster. Before I had even a chance his fist came right infront of me and pushed me back quite a distance. I rolled on the snow which did soften my landing. But, didn’t prevent me from receiving any injuries. I stop after colliding into a tree. A few seconds of remaining motionless I rose to my feet. My blade still in clenched in my hand as it was my life. It was five second into the battle and already Im losing. I thought I’ll try the frontal attack again.

Once again I pick up my legs and dashed towards the beast. I jumped throwing my body at him. He grabbed me with the same arm and chucked me into more tree. After impact I felt blood squirt out of my throat. I fell towards the ground and laid there, desperately trying to regain feeling through my body. I had to figure out how to kill this thing before it got a chance to kill me. I quickly examined my opponent. It was fine around the chest and it arms. However, What caught my attention was the wound located on the knee cap of it’s right leg. It must have gotten into a fight, with it’s own kind, and received that injury. That gave me the advantage of speed. With a wound like that he shouldn’t be able to move much. Still it wasn't the weakness I was looking for. I gave my attack another shot. This time I’ll strike from the right.

After I was in his range. I rolled to his right, jumped, and strike. I was successful but he was able to grab me. He clenched his blood stained palms and squeezed me. It felt like all my blood was traveling to my head. Just waiting to burst out of my eyes, nose, ears, and my mouth. I had to think of something. I raised my blade and plunged it into it’s hand and shanked it. If it wasn’t for reflexes, it would have kept its grip. I land on both feet on the ground panting. Now was my chance and might be my only one. I rushed past it’s arm. Now I was behind him. I dash and ran up his back to his neck. I plunged my blade into the back of it’s neck and jerked backwards as hard as I could. The beast finally fell to the ground after a ear splitting roar, blood splashing out of it. I landed roughly on my left leg. The pain was bearable, but I couldn’t move it much. The snow slowly returned to rain and the temperature started to increase. I glanced at a bag located behind it. I limbed myself over there and looked inside. I pleased to find a blanket big enough to cover a house in it as well as three good piece of meat. I dragged the blanket and covered my stick made tent. To keep in the warmth. I also grabbed the meat and hauled them inside. I saved some of the blanket for myself and wrapped it around smiling…

I wasn’t going to die...
