The Dark Eerie Night

Chapter 15

Help

"Tell me what you saw," Aiden sat across from me. His forehead creased and sapphire eyes glowed. "Crystal, tell me what you saw."

"What do you mean?"

Every inch of my body had goose bumps as I recalled the dream. My mind was debating with me that I should tell or not tell them. I came to a conclusion I decided not to tell them what I had seen because this is what I had to deal with. I didn't want to lead them in this trap. I mustn't lure them in; I didn't want them to get killed.

"Nothing . . ." I lied.

"Crystal, what did you see," Brian demanded. He stared into my eyes and tried to pick out any kind of emotion.

"Nothing . . . so where are we?"

"Crystal, what did you see," Brian demanded.

"I saw a wolf, a werewolf, chasing us down and I was running. I didn't see the cliff ahead . . ." I glimpsed at Aiden and Brian to just to make sure if my lie worked. Both of them looked unsure if I was telling the truth. I had to extra measures to make sure, by reading their minds.

Is she lying? . . . I wonder what she's hiding. . . I can tell that you're reading my mind Crystal. Aiden thought.

I know you too well Crystal . . . I know that you're lying. Brian thought.

"Look I'm not lying serious . . . the wolf even spoke . . . the wolf said that . . . they would come after us if I don't go, the wolf was hunting me down." I looked towards the blue carpet.

She could be telling the truth but she could be hiding something. Being hunted down? Brian thought.

The wolf . . . the wolf could symbolise a pack, a family or something vicious. Hold on a sec. Aiden thought.

"There's a few people after you, isn't there?" My gaze shifted towards Aiden.

I shook my head and spoke again, "No, the wolf was after me. It's just a dream, drop it already." I stood up and tried to walk out of the room. Brian grabbed my wrist and stared at me.

"I know you're hiding something." Brian stared straight into my eyes.

I tried getting out his grip, "Let go of me!"

Picture frames in the room started to shake, a few crashing against the ground. The lights were flashing and I let a scream. I couldn't control my powers; my mind was going around in circles. I heard a familiar voice of that man who also had haunted my dreams.

"Found you Crystal."

"Get out of my head!"

"Oh shit. We have to get out of here!" Aiden yelled.

Everything was going so fast, Brian grabbed a hold on me and jumped out of the window as shards of glass went everywhere. As we descended Aiden jumped out of the window. We finally made it towards the earth's surface. I feared for my life.

We ran as fast as we could and sure the human eye wouldn't have seen us.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

I looked at my surroundings and I saw was the streets were dark and gloomy in the night's sky. Along the streets were buildings but not a single building had their lights turned on. I wondered if this city had a blackout.

I received no reply in return and asked again, "Where are we going?"

Brian made a noise and finally replied, "Anywhere but here."

"Right." I rested my head in Brian's chest and heard his heart beat. It was a slow but smooth rhythm. It made me feel safe. My eyes drooped and went back into a deep sleep in his arms.

I felt a smooth fabric against my body. It was soft and cool. It felt like my bed back at home; oh miss being home. But it reminded me of the horrific screams of my parents that night. I shuddered just of the thought of it.

I heard unfamiliar voices and words were spoken every second. My brows furrowed together. I hated having extremely good hearing. Sighing, I listened deeply to hear and any voices that sounded familiar. Then I heard Aiden's and Ryan's voices.

I listened in, "What are we going to do when she awakes?" Aiden said.

"I'll talk to her . . . well, well she's already awake." An unknown voice spoke.

My eyes immediately flattered opened and a figure stood in front of me. I was flooded with curiosity. Who was this person that stood in front of me? I tried to study his features but his stern cold blue eyes caught my attention.

"The famous Crystal is now awake, what a pleasant surprise." My eyes bulged in shock; this was the owner of the unknown voice. I was just listening to their short conversation not long ago.

"Surprised?" he said.

I scurried back towards the bed board and looked my eyes furrowed, "How –did you . . . wait you teleported?"

He smiled and that answered my question.

"Who are you and where am I?"

"I'm William, my dear, and this is my home." He spoke humbly.

He walked toward me and sat down on the antique chair with brown décor. He sighed and spoke again, "Shall I start?"

I nodded my head slowly. I felt powerless against him; when he looked down on me.

"Well, Aiden and Brian brought you here for safe keeping, since you are vulnerable from attacks of Aiden's family. And I'm sorry for your loss of your parents as I was a good friend of theirs. They didn't want you to live a life of a Xander but of a human. I thought that was bad idea but I respected their decisions nevertheless." He looked me in the eyes and continued; "Now I should get to the point, Aiden and Brian is part of my army and other people of our kind here in this house, to take down Abram and Eva's kingdom. We will fight until the end; before they get a hold of you. If they do, our plans of living a humble life would be destroyed."

He spoke again, "A few people here don't like the fact that you're here. Just a warning."

Wow that made me feel better. Not. At least I got more information from him and I'm grateful to know what's going on.

"Crystal, before I go I'm going to ask you a few questions and you're going to answer them truthfully as possible." His strong facial features were stern. He leaned forward.

I kept my facial features as emotionless as possible, even though this William made feel vulnerable. I knew what he was going to ask me. He stare sent shivers down my spine. I had to compose myself and act like nothing had happened.

"Well, have you had dreams, wicked dreams of a man and a woman?"

I replied, "Only wolves?"

"Wolves?"

"Yes werewolves."

"You're lying."

I hated being interrogated.

"No," I said sternly.

"What about Ryan?"

I shivered in fear when he said his name and I quickly composed my self and stared into his cold eyes.

He ran his hand through his black hair and he then leaned against the chair. "You're not going to budge are you?"

I made no movement whatsoever and kept my position. I wasn't going to put Aidan and Brian's life in danger when there are malevolent people out to get them. But there are also after me. I couldn't risk it. Even if they have me, Aidan and Brian would be in danger either way. I diverted my eyes on the painting of the wall of a defenceless rabbit and a red fox about to pounce on its prey.

"I really don't want to force you but it's the chance I have to take."

My eye shot up towards him and I glared at him. I used my levitation ability to make objects float above William.

He smirked and then said, "You are hiding something."

I moved the objects closer to him. Anger rose right through my body. I really wanted to inflict damage on him so he wont force me.

"Do you think that you would hurt me."
