What Was: Vestiges
(take one)
When confidence fades,
and beauty betrays,
you close your eyes
and dream of the day
when you’ll be able
to say “I’m okay”
with a smile
on your face.
When the Sun falls asleep
in the middle of the day,
the fears come out to play.
They whisper words
of love, of hate...
you can’t help but
Believe.
When the tears you cry
nurture the doubt inside,
it sinks it’s roots
deep into your eyes…
everyone knows;
you’ve lost the will
to try.
When roses bloom,
more thorns than
blood red petals,
people forget
to look beyond
the beauty for
the thicket.
A/n: how it started. all three are pretty much the same poem, just written in different povs, tenses. I felt like posting all of them.
