cover-up

i cleaned out my closet
only to find forgotten treasures,
faded fabrics and
dust dust
dust.
there’s something soothing about
playing dress-up with
clothes i had forgotten
i owned or never wore a second time,
while posing in front of the mirror,
tousling my hair.
i need more excuses to smile
