Xeiana: This was specifically put together with my sister and my best friend in english class of 06.
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful sea nymph called Sheina who, on her seventeenth birthday, would be bonded with either a sea dragon, an earth dragon, or a fire dragon. But when she turned seventeen, she was bonded to the most stubborn, hard-headed, moody, and unpredictable male fire dragon of all. It all started the day that she received her dragon friend. Sheina was at the festival, which was where the other nymphs would celebrate their seventeenth birthday.
"In honor of your birthday, here are the dragons to bond to. You will know when you are bonded to one of the dragons." her father said, presenting her with seven dragons. Sheina looked into each of the dragon's eyes, waiting expectantly for the bonding to happen. She had been hoping to bond to the beautiful sea dragon with sea green eyes, but when she got to her, she didn't feel anything.
Disappointed, she came to the last one, a fierce male fire dragon, where she felt a spark that signaled the bonding. She, with the dragon, retreated back as the other nymphs bonded. To her dismay, she saw that her rival, one of the meanest boy nymphs in the sea, bond with the sea dragon. The festival started back up again, but Sheina escaped and swam to her hideout - a sunken ship, her dragon trailing behind her. She entered the ship via the jagged hold in the right side. Her dragon stuck his head in, not being able to fit his whole body in the ship.
"What's your name anyways?" Sheina asked, looking miserable.
"My name is Ferise, Sheina-rider." He answered in a deep voice.
"Nice to meet you Ferise." She said.
"Hey Shay-Shay!" her rival, Dainle, taunted, using her hated nickname as he swam into the ship. Ferise snorted and withdrew his head to examine the water dragon that came to a stop next to him.
"What do you want?" Sheina groaned.
"I wanted to wish you Happy Birthday." Dainle pulled out a small, square box. Sheina stared at the box for a moment. Reluctantly, she took it from Dainle. Cautiously she opened it. She was expecting a sea urchin or a dead sea cucumber to be inside. Instead she found a gold necklace with a one inch peach-colored pearl. Dainle took it out and then placed it gingerly around Sheina's neck. He kissed her on the cheek. Sheina blinked several times.
"What?" she asked. She was all confused. Why was Dainle, who had been such a jerk to her for as long as she could remember, being so nice to her? And why did he give her that necklace? Dainle could sense Sheina's confusion so he decided it was best to explain. He took a deep breath then explained.
"I've loved you ever since I first laid eyes upon your beauty. I didn't think you would like me so I teased you." Dainle shuffled his feet nervously.
"You know, I always, kind of, figured you liked me. But when you teased me I figured you hated me, so I tried to hate you. Sheina said softly. They kissed each other tenderly on the lips. Then the two hopped onto their dragons' backs and rode off.
