Casualty

Scarred by broken mirrors,

That I smashed to hide the truth,

The world is burning.

I’m on fire,

Hot, too hot to bear.

God -

I want to break.

Hold me; I can’t take it.

Please –

End the pain,

A bullet to the brain,

Quick suicide.

So long.

Farewell.

But I can’t go under,

Can’t submerge,

Drown

And drift down peacefully.

Breaking is for the weak.

And so –

I’ll tough it up

And sludge along

Because slow death is the sweeter,

Far sweeter,

Way to go.

A/N: A bit different that my usual, but I wanted to try something new. Hopefully it worked. :)
