Lying in bed I hug myself under the blankets,

and shut my eyes tight.

The worst part of life these days,

is going to bed alone at night.

No arms wrapped around me.

No one to purposely bump into.

No one there in the moments,

when I feel I cant get through,

becoming who I am.

It scares me,

how much I’ve changed since I left,

and every day I see signs that I was right.

It was for the best,

but that doesn’t take away the pain.

You have no idea how much it hurts

that I couldn’t do this with you by my side.
