Selfishness and Religion

The priority of every person is themselves. It isn’t selfishness or by way of trying to instill a form of devout selfishness in people that I say this: When things, actions, events, anything comes down to the final line, anyone will think of themselves first. It is by the nature of mankind to be instinctual and self-preservation is at the top of any list of any human automatic instincts. It is an action I shall put this. An action that overthrows your brain and basic functions of your natural programming. It is the truth of our nature, that basic form of human action and instinct. We are nothing more than slightly evolved mammals, in many ways chemically, no different than apes. This is the truth, if you can call us evolved. I know religious fundamentalists are now angered that I compared humans to apes. It’s the 21st century, face the facts, no direct contact with god (though you’re either crazy or on drugs if you have one) will change that fact. The facts of Darwin’s discovery always seem to anger the creationists from any faith. Faith in people is what is necessary. However, faith in organized religion that has overtaken much of the political world is what is flawed. Wars, genocide, and intolerable hatred toward other faiths and creeds that fuel the endless strife still come from religious institutions. Nothing good will ever come from the religions that corrupt dignitaries preside over. The various people that believe that missionary work to convert others is a good thing have their heads in the sand. It has been the greatest folly of mankind to let the Church become the State. Never trust any “man of the cloth” of any religion. They never have your best interest at heart. It will never be you; bringing us back to selfishness again. Catholics seem to be unable to keep their hands off their altar boys. Jewish leaders seem to keep women at the bottom of the hierarchy and even at the bottom of the gender chain. Islamic leaders in the Middle East (not here, which I am aware of) seem to want to erase the Jewish people off the face of Judea, even if the region is named after them. They never have your best interest at heart. Always theirs, never yours.
