Like Water and Fire

If I could color the world,

What color would it be?

I believe that color would be red,

Like a fire burning deep.

Red is such an open color,

Its vibrant shades a song.

That sings such sweet, a melody,

Which no one can get wrong.

Pink represents the love,

We wish could spread out wide.

The love the world has hidden deep,

And swallowed all inside

Blood crimson’s now the hate,

That has replaced desire.

Love’s captured, held behind a gate.

And now hate engulfs like fire.

If I could color the world,

What color would it be?

The hatred of a crimson red,

Whose flame love fails to flee.
