The Quest for My Lady
In every land I searched for thee,
Over mountains, hills, and forests old,
Yet I never caught sight of she,
Who makes the meek and fearful bold.
I rode through deserts hot as iron,
I climbed up crevices steep and wide,
I wrestled bears and took down lions,
I swam against the ocean's tide.
Yet still I didn't find the lady,
Who gives the timid inner strength,
No matter how far I traveled steady,
For twelve long days and twelve night's length.
I was climbing down a cliff face,
With my lady on my mind,
When all at once it occurred to me,
That my courage had been there all that time.
