A/N: I know I’m in the middle of writing Silence but I just love this story so much! It began itself and once it did, I couldn’t stop. I already have more than four chapters written!

Chapter 1:

*

“You, SIR, are horribly rude!”

Jase pointed a finger at the jock that made fun of his highlighter green tank top.

“I’ll have you know it’s the latest in style, what do you have? Jean shorts? That is so overdone!”

He continued to strut down the school hallways as he waved and winked at the girls. They all giggled, as they should.

Jase was the school's God.

No one told him this but he just knew. Who else would it be? Darcy Matthews? Nah, Darcy may have dark, mysterious good looks but he had nothing on Jase Hemingway, even though the girls usually did follow Darcy around a lot.

The girls were just intimidated a bit more by Jase which was why they weren’t all over him. It was obvious.

“I am amazing. How is it possible that I captured the hearts of every girl at this school?” He thought to himself aloud.

Life is great.

“Oh my gosh! My life is over! I hate everyone! I hope you all suffer!”

Caroline curled into a ball in the corner of the library.

“Shhhh! Gosh, we’re in the library. It’s not that bad, yeesh. You need to calm down,” her friend assured her as she glanced around the library.

“Calm down? Calm down?! How could you even suggest a thing? How is it possible that I calm down when my life is over?! MY LIFE IS FUCKING OVER!”

Melody slowly leaned farther away from her friend. She understood that it was her time of need and all that but she didn’t not want their crazy librarian going loco on them.

“That’s great and all but I’ll stand over here, k?”

After a few seconds...

“What do you think you’re doing?! This is a library! Not some place where you can scream whenever you please! You should know better Ms. Penn! And I will not allow vulgarity in this library or in this school! Detention after school, now get out and go to class!”

The librarian stomped away angrily.

Caroline sniffled and stood up slowly.

“I warned you,” Melody said unsympathetically.

And for that, a book flew directly into her stomach.

“Oof! Bloody fucking puta! What did you do that for?”

“That is it! You too Ms. Guerrera! DETENTION! Now both of you get out!”

They both trudged out of the library.

Melody kicked Caroline in the shin and stomped off.

“Hey! Where are you going? I can’t be seen at school! You have to help me hide!” Caroline yelled after her as she hopped on one foot.

“No! I have detention because of you and mi familia will go crazy! You know how they are!”

“I’ll tell them it’s my fault!”

“They already hate you! Your opinion doesn’t matter!”

“Well, ouch.”

“Sorry, but gosh. You sure do throw a tantrum.”

“Heheh. But really, everyone thinks I’m dating.... it.” Caroline pouted.

“It’s not so bad; at least everyone knows who we are now, right? Isn’t that what you wanted?”

“Not in that way! I wanted to be known for dating Darcy!”

Her friend snorted at that. “In your dreams, buddy.”

“You could at least humour me.”

“I believe in honesty.”

Smack.

“What was that for?!”

“I felt like it!”

“Well, I feel like doing this!”

Melody pushed Caroline into the lockers and ran off to class.

“Good luck with your new boooyfriend!”

She yelled as she giggled down the hallway.

‘I have no real friends.’ Caroline thought as she sniffled some more and walked in the opposite direction.

Jase sat down in his first period class and pulled out his notebook. Nothing like good old physics, working out problems always made him feel better.

“Good morning class! Pop quiz, put your books away. I want to see only a pen and pencil on your desk!” His teacher called as he entered the class.

The class groaned. Stacy Fullerton tried to look through the textbook last minute.

“Sorry hon, but that won’t help you,” Jase said self-righteously.

She glared at him viciously and turned back to her book.

“It’s ok though, ‘cause I’m here to help. You should know that, everyone in the school does.”

“Who the fuck are you?”

“Ahahaha! You’re so hilarious.” Jase waved her off and laughed.

“I’ll tell you the multiple choice answers but next time you should study in advance. Now: I’ll scratch my head, if it’s A... I’ll yawn if it’s B... I’ll tap my fingers on the desk, if it’s C, and I’ll cross my legs at the ankles, if it’s D.”

Stacy looked at him for a minute before shrugging and nodding in approval.

“Thank you! I totally love you for this!” She beamed.

“Everyone does, it’s only natural.” Jase winked.

She rolled her eyes and put her books away.

The teacher handed the quiz out and Jase took one look and scoffed at it. There was a collective groan as his classmates took a look at it. They thought this was hard? Pffft.

He went through the signs and she was delighted when they were done with the quiz.

“We’re getting 100% for sure, don’t worry.” He smirked and leaned back in his chair.

What he wasn’t counting on was falling over backwards.

He got up quickly and adjusted himself. The entire class’ laughter echoed around the room.

“Damn, I needed that after that quiz!” Someone yelled out.

“Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. After all, I am here to amuse.”

He winked at Stacy. She only giggled back at him.

“So I totally want your help with this stuff since it comes so easily to you.” She approached him after class.

“You can come to my house, and I’ll “teach” you there, assuming that’s all you want.” He winked at her.

She gave him a confused look. “Of course, that’s all I want. Anyway, where do you live?”

“Oh, the act. Okay, yeah, SHE ONLY WANTS HELP WITH HOMEWORK, THAT’S ALL!” He yelled out loud to the people in the hall, they all laughed in response. He was a natural born comedian.

“Yeah. So where do you live?”

“You are funny, aren’t you? Like you don’t know where I live. So I’ll be seeing you at seven. Bye beautiful.”

He turned away and walked off to his next class.

Stacy Fullerton stared after him in complete confusion. She shook her head and walked away.

“What a total nerd,” she said.

“Did you hear? He was talking to Stacy Fullerton. And she was all ‘let’s go to your house so you can help me with my homework’. And he was all, ‘yeah, suuuure homework. I know you want me baby’ and then Stacy was like ‘what a tard’,” Caroline told Melody the latest gossip.

“Why was he even talking to her? I thought she hated nerds.”

“She does but apparently he helped her cheat and now he thinks he’s big stuff. God, he is so retarded. I can’t believe he thinks he’s dating me. I only said yes, so he would leave me alone.”

“Yeah but you said yes, so you have to go out with him at least once. You can’t be mean.”

“Why not? I wanna be mean!” Caroline whined.

“It’s just the way you are, you have to face it.”

“How about that time I beat up Patrick Morris?”

“You were five and all you did was push him into the sandbox because he stole your doll.”

“Well, I thought I was the next Mohamed Ali.” Caroline put her nose in the air.

Melody rolled her eyes. Caroline was so crazy sometimes.

“Hey! I know! Now that he “invited” Stacy to his house, doesn’t that mean he’s cheating on me?! I can break up with him!”

“No, you can’t. Technically, you aren’t even dating yet.”

Caroline’s smile plummeted.

“Way to burst my bubble. God, if I see him today, I might jump off a bridge. My social life is down the drain.”

“What social life?” Melody asked bluntly.

“You never go along with things, do you?”

“Nope and that’s why you love me.” Melody put an arm around her best friend as they walked down the hall.

“No, that’s why I hate you. I love you because...”

“Wait, I don’t love you!” Caroline pushed Melody away and seconds after a smack to the back of the head came her way.

As she rubbed her head and glared at Melody, she spotted it down the hall.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Save me, please! I love you, I do! I beg of you, hide me somewhere.”

Melody followed her line of view and spotted the whistling Jase Hemingway walking down the hall.

“Oh shit!”

“Yeah!” Caroline panicked.

Caroline stood frozen as a sense of impending doom hit her.

It was all over, here he came. And she couldn’t even say no, how was it that she always managed to get into stupid situations?

A/N: Okay, so this story basically popped out of nowhere. I was looking in somebody’s favourites and there was a story called Geek Wars. I love the title! I haven’t read it but it had a lot of reviews, maybe people know it?

Anyway, this idea that a geek thought he was cool jumped into my brain and all the other characters introduced themselves. Jase is the weirdo geek kid, Darcy is the cool, hot guy, Caroline is the melodramatic typical teenager and Melody is her amazing friend.

I don’t even really know if “mi familia” makes sense, I know it means my family though. And “puta” is female dog *ahembitchahem* and “loco” is crazy. I’ve known those words forever without actually knowing Spanish.

Merci.

Muchas gracias.

Grazi.

Those are the only other languages I know. Français, I’m ok at. I can get by in Italiano... kinda-sorta, Español not really. But I felt like typing them the correct way... instead of French, Italian and Spanish. =)

Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to review!

EDIT: So I've learned of this "new" thing called editing without having to re-upload the chapter! How could I not have known when it said "edit/preview" right in the document section.

Now that I have this talent I won't be so reluctant to edit. And I've changed Daniel's name to Jase and edited some parts.
