The Wizard's Visit
Out from the world of legend he strides,
Serpentine staff in wizened hand,
Clad in robes of deepest blue,
Shimmering with golden stars,
That sparkle and glisten as though captured from the twilight skies.
Tall pointed hat covers silvery flowing hair.
Sane and sensible people
Point and stare,
And muttering grumble beneath their breath,
But you, and I,
We greet him with joy in our hearts,
And marvel to see magic made reality before our eyes.
He smiles benignly upon us,
His eyes sparkle merrily,
Mirroring the stars on his robe.
He walks with us for a time,
Sharing wisdom,
Enchanting us with his magical skills,
Telling tales of quests and adventures.
One day he leaves without a word,
Leaving only memories and a hint of magic in the air.
Somewhere he wanders another plane,
Another time and place,
A part of him is with us still,
The magic lives on.
My first poem published on here, loosely inspired by thoughts of Albus Dumbledore, and my general love of wizards. Please review. Many of my other poems are more emotional and personal than this one.
