To Forget

Hoping,
wishing,

waiting to forget.

When
will
it
happen?

Your face,
your eyes,
your smile,
your heart

Nothing
makes
sense,

everything
a blur.

I need
distractions,
something
to help
me

forget you.

Friends.
Family.
School.
A job.

Just anything.

I long
to forget
everything
between us.

I long
to move on
from the
past.

I long
to
get
a life.

A new life,
something other
than waiting
for you
to come back.

But I
can't.

I can't
let go.

Not yet.

But,
every day
I continue
to hold on,

my heart grows

by the minute.
