A little girl,

Prancing down the aisle,

Tossing pink rose petals to the sides.

A little girl,

Her smile,

Radiating pure joy.

A little girl,

High black pigtails,

Spinning like little pinwheels

As she dances around the grown-ups.

A little girl,

Falling asleep in her mother’s arms.

Eyelashes brushing rose-petal cheeks.

That little gril,

Innocence radiating from her.

Fading into nothing.

Like a ghost.

As each day she grew older,

And that innocent little girl faded.
