Molly, Grace-Ann, Natalie, Courtney, Rachel, and Joyce were all sitting next to each other at one of the many round tables in the ball room of the Belling Manor. Hundreds of women sat at the identical looking white marble tables splattered throughout the room and there was a long table set up in the center of the room which held tons of brunch foods.

Molly was getting married at 7:00 P.M and it was 10:00 A.M so currently the all female guest brunch was being held. Natalie and Grace-Ann were giggling and talking to each other in hushed voices while Rachel listened to Courtney talk about Tobey and how cute he was. No one was paying attention to Joyce who was oddly silent, only taking the time to throw a dirty look at Molly every once in a while. Molly was silent, a tiny excited smile on her lips and her eyes off in the distance as she thought about the events that would be happening in a short time.

As soon as the brunch was over, Natalie and Courtney would be taking Molly to the hairdressers and the real preparations for the day would begin. Grace-Ann and Rachel would be driving around to pick up things and overseeing the final preparations for the wedding.

"I'm going to go use the restroom." Molly suddenly spoke before she stood up and moved to leave the table. Rachel glanced at her before turning her attention back to Courtney who had moved on to talk about a new book she was reading.

----------------------------------------------

"Hey, why isn't Molly back yet?" Natalie spoke up and Rachel and Courtney turned away from their conversation before looking towards the seat where Molly was supposed to be sitting.

"Seriously! It's been like twenty minutes…" Grace-Ann spoke up.

"Wait a minute, Joyce isn't here either!" Courtney pointed out and while it took a few more moments for Rachel to connect the dots, Grace-Ann and Natalie had figured out the connection immediately and within seconds the two sisters were out of their seats and sprinting towards the bathrooms.

"Mother, come on!" Courtney hissed and pulled Rachel up.

"What? What?" Rachel asked as she hastily followed Courtney. The pair left the loud, brightly lit ballroom and rushed through a hallway which led to the nearest bathrooms. As they got farther into the hall, they could hear panicked voices and that caused Courtney to pick up her pace. However, Rachel slowed as she saw Joyce rushing in her direction; like a flame in the wind, Joyce's long red hair was flying behind her and her painted red lips were turned up into a smug smile. However, as she passed Rachel the smile dropped from her lips and her brown eyes turned to send Rachel the accusing look that they always reserved for her.

Rachel ignored her and looked forewords, only to find Courtney standing next to Grace-Ann as they silently watched Natalie calm down a frantic Molly.

"Molly, Molly! Molly hun, I need you to look at me." Natalie told her, her hands grasping the Molly's forearms.

"No! Natalie…she…oh my god, I can't do this! I told you I can't do this!" She yelled and Rachel's blue eyes went wide with worry. She hurried to Grace-Ann's side.

"What happened?" She whispered and she watched as Grace-Ann closed her eyes tightly and shook her head.

"Joyce happened. Again. She got to Molly. Told her all kinds of things and its…it got to her." Grace-Ann whispered, anger apparent in her voice.

"What did she say?" Courtney asked but Natalie's soothing voice distracted them.

"Molly, you can do this. This marriage is going to work."

"No, it's not…Joyce…she made so much sense. Young marriages never work out! I mean, look at mom! She got married really young and she's had, what? Eight husbands? Plus, I'm…I'm not cut out for this kind of life and you know it, Nat! Settling down is your thing…it's Grace-Ann's thing…it's Courtney's thing. It's everyone's thing but mine. And then you can throw in the fact that Joyce doesn't approve of me. At all. How long is Nate really going to be able to ignore that little fact?"

"Joyce told you all that?" Natalie asked in disbelief and Molly nodded.

"Well…Joyce is wrong." Grace-Ann finally spoke.

"No, Grace! She's right…she said everything I've been thinking for ages!"

Natalie looked surprised and a little hurt at this confession.

"And you never said anything to any of us? Not even to me?" Molly shook her head and averted her eyes.

"I decided I couldn't…when Grace-Ann left for Paris she told me that you have your own life now and that I needed to take care of myself."

Grace-Ann groaned.

"Moll, I didn't mean that you couldn't ever come talk to us about your problems! That what we're here for! We're your sisters! We're triplets, for gods sake!"

"Well, I talked to mom about it last night!" Molly defended.

"You talked to mom?" Grace-Ann groaned and Rachel sent her a warning look which she chose to ignore. "And tell me, Molly, was that helpful at all?"

Molly looked down and Grace-Ann nodded.

"Exactly."

"Grace!" Natalie hissed after noticing Rachel's troubled look.

"Well it's true! How do you expect to get good family from a woman whose never home and whose relationships have all failed?" Grace-Ann asked; she knew she was out of line but she was just so frustrated with everyone…

"Excuse me, Grace-Ann, but I am your mother-" Rachel started furiously.

"Then start acting like one!" Grace yelled back. "I'm sick and tired of the way you only worry about yourself and your latest man. Whose been paying for the bills with your husbands money? Me. Whose been raising Courtney and Molly? Natalie. Who missed last Christmas to see a show with her boyfriend? You. Face it mom, the only thing you've done is supply us with money." Grace finished and everyone was silent.

Natalie was staring at Grace-Ann, her jaw open and her eyes wide. Her grip grew slack on Molly's arms and she too stared at Grace-Ann in disbelief. Courtney's eyes were averted for she felt a little guilty that her mom was taking so much abuse from her daughters. After all, last night Courtney told her that one of the reasons Molly didn't want to get married was because she didn’t want to end up like Rachel.

Rachel didn't know how to react. Her first expression was one of hurt, extreme hurt. Then, it turned to anger - what on Earth gave her daughter to right to speak to her like that? Then, the she returned to being hurt. She never knew…well, she knew that she wasn't as good a mother as she should have been and she knew that she spent way to much time focused on her own relationships but she never thought that her daughters had felt so strongly about it.

"I…I never…" Rachel struggled for something to say but Grace-Ann shook her head.

"I'm sorry, mom. I probably shouldn't have said that but…well, now you know." Rachel was silent as her mind scrambled for some way to respond. "Okay…Natalie, Courtney, take Molly to the hairdressers. Get her prepared for her wedding tonight." Grace-Ann spoke, taking charge once again.

"Did I not just say that I will not be getting mar-" Molly started but Grace cut her off.

"Molly, please…just, do this. Okay? Everything will be fine. Joyce will no longer be a problem after today." Natalie's eyes widened once more and Courtney choked on air.

"You're not going to…you're not gonna kill her, right?" Courtney asked, nerves shaking her voice. Grace-Ann laughed.

"Shut up, Courtney. Of course not. Now go!" Molly sent Grace-Ann a reluctant look but willingly let Natalie and Courtney lead her from the hall.

Grace-Ann avoided her mothers eyes and the silence was an awkward one. Finally, Grace-Ann spoke up.

"Umm…we should probably be going. We need to make sure everything is running smoothly and then I'm going to go talk to Joyce and see exactly what her problem is-"

"No." Rachel cut her off.

"What?" Grace asked and Rachel shook her head.

"No. I'm not going to go with you and you're not going to talk to Joyce. You go and take care of everything and I will be the one to speak to Nate's mother."

"What? Mom, I'm not so sure that that’s a good idea…you don't understand everything-" Grace started.

"But I understand enough, plus, this is my fight as much as it is Molly's. It's about time that Joyce and I settle thing once and for all."

----------------------------

Rachel parked her Mercedes in the driveway of Joyce's house and knocked on the door. Joyce had left right after her confrontation with Molly and Rachel had found Joyce's address online before driving there.

The door opened showing a cheery Joyce, however her cheery composure dropped once she saw who was standing at her door.

"Goodbye." She spoke and started to close the door, however, Rachel pushed back and slipped inside before the door could close all the way.

"We need to talk." She told and Joyce shook her head.

"We don't. Now please leave before I call the police and have them forcefully remove you from my property." Rachel rolled her eyes.

"I'll leave once we settle this."

"We have nothing to settle!" Joyce yelled.

"Really? Then how do you explain your little chat with my daughter? You know, the one whose about to get married to your son?"

"That was me giving a fair warning. Lets face it, we both know it's not going to last." Joyce spoke as she crossed her arms and leaned back against the door.

"No, that was you using my daughter to get to me! You know that they're in love and that their marriage is going to work and yet you continue to try and sabotage their relationship! Tell me why!" Rachel yelled.

"Look, it's not my fault that Molly is so insecure." Joyce snapped at her and Rachel rolled her eyes.

"She's only insecure because of people like you! There was no need for you to talk to interfere with her relationship with Nate."

"They're too young to get married." Joyce tried but Rachel shook her head.

"Admit it, if Molly was any other girl, you wouldn't be interfering." Joyce glared but stayed silent. "The only reason you dislike my daughter so much is because of that, the fact that she's my daughter."

"I refuse to have this conversation with you." Joyce stated and tried to move around Rachel but Rachel moved in her way.

"No. We will be having this conversation because what you are doing is wrong on so many levels. You can't take out your anger on Molly just because of a grudge you hold against me! Stop being so childish!" Rachel ended in a shout and this set Joyce off again.

"Childish?! You think my grudge is childish?! My husband was going to leave me for you!" Rachel rolled her eyes and pushed back the slight guilt that rolled up in her stomach.

"He was not going to leave you." Rachel argued and Joyce barked out a laugh.

"Oh please. I'm so sick and tired of you, Rachel. Growing up with you was the hardest thing I've ever gone through."

"You didn’t have to be compete with me."

"Didn't I? Our parents were best friends. They were always comparing us and you beat me out every single time. I was smart, I was pretty, I was athletic and yet none of that compared to you. You were musical, you were the blond bombshell, you were the head cheerleader. I never beat you at anything…except Jackson. I won Jackson."

Rachel nodded. Jackson was Joyce's husband…

"But then you took him from me too!" Joyce's teeth ground together and she pushed back tears that were gathering in her eyes. "In your life, everything is handed to you on a silver platter. You just bat your eyelashes and you get whatever you want, whether it’s a husband or a meal. But me? I've had to work for everything I have. Just like I had to work to get Jackson and then our family joins your family for Thanksgiving dinner about a year after you have the triplets and I have Nate…you see Jackson, you bat your eyes at him, you guys have a roll in the hay in all of a sudden he's head over heels in love with you." Joyce looked at Rachel in disgust and Rachel averts her eyes from Joyce's. Tears were streaming down Joyce's face and her eyes were already red and strained.

"But I didn't love him back." Rachel tried quietly, as if that would make a difference. Joyce cried a little harder.

"I know! And that makes it so much worse! I knew you weren't going to leave your husband for Jackson and I tried to tell him that but did he care? No! He was going to leave me and take everything. His trust fund, our child…everything. And I hate to say this but I'm damn lucky that he died in that car crash before he got a chance to file for divorce."

"Joyce-"

"No! Rachel, get the hell out of my house." Joyce cried. "I don't want you here and I swear that I'll call the police." Joyce took a threatening step towards the phone and this time Rachel didn't stand in her way.

"I'm sorry, Joyce. I've already apologized so many times-"

"I DON'T CARE!" Joyce screeched and she choked on her sob. Rachel shook her head.

"But I really just need you to listen to me-"

"GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!" Joyce continued to scream and she knocked over a vase that she came into contact with. Rachel flinched but continued.

"You need to realize that Molly isn't me." Joyce snorted but continued to cry. "She really isn't! Do you realize how scared she is? Even before you talked to her, she was scared out of her mind. More then anything, she wants to make him happy and she's scared of what'll happen if she can't do that. She doesn't want to end up like me…she only wants one husband. She wants to be there for any children she'll end up having. She wants everything you wanted and she wants it with your son." Joyce chocked out another sob and shook her head. "She loves Nate. Nate loves her…you can mess with my life however you want but please…for the love of god, don't mess with Molly's and your son's. After all, just like I don't want Molly to end up like me, you don't want Nate to end up like you: bitter, loveless, and alone."

And with that, Rachel took her leave.

-----------------------------------

Rachel tightly grasped Henry's hand and he soothingly smiled at her.

"Relax, love. Everything will be fine." He told her before placing a kiss in her hair.

Oh yeah, everything would be fine if Joyce was here and Nate didn't keep looking at the empty spot where she should be sitting. Oh, and if Molly had walked down the aisle five minutes ago like she was supposed too.

What if Joyce really refused to accept the fact that Molly wasn't Rachel? Would she really not show up at her only child's wedding? Would Nate still marry Molly if he knew that his mother disapproved so much that she wasn't even planning on showing up?

Rachel nearly smacked herself at that last question. Of course he would.

But still…

Rachel's neck snapped towards the entrance when she heard the door open and she sighed in relief when Joyce walked in. And Rachel had to give her props. She did not look like she had been crying and hysterically screaming a few hours ago. She looked fairly put together in her blue dress and pearls, her red hair up in an elegant bun. She smiled at Nate who sent her a relieved smile in return but she refused to look in Rachel's direction.

That was fine with her. Then, the music started…

Everyone stood up and watched as one of Joyce's nieces skipped down the aisle, throwing flower petals all around. Following her, Alex walked out, his arm linked in Natalie's who glided down the aisle in her valley green dress. Her blue eyes danced around the crowd and she winked at Tobey who was in Henry's lap. Tobey giggled. Next came one of Nate's close friends named Paul Lankly and a pretty girl with brown hair and brown eyes named Brooklyn Hanson. Brooke and Molly met when Brooke was in college at NYU and Molly and Nate had attended a part there. The two girls had become fast friends and since Brooke, her husband Michael, and their adopted daughter continued to live in New York, it was easy to stay in touch.

Then came Grace-Ann who was looking slightly disgruntled and while anyone who recognized the famous smirking baseball player with whom she was walking down the aisle with would say it was because she was star struck, those who knew Grace understood that she was disgruntled for a different reason. Next came Courtney who was practically bursting with excitement as Cole happily walked her towards the alter. Finally, Molly and her father, Rachel's second husband, made their entrance.

Rachel looked past her ex-husband who was smiling at Molly adoringly and she instead took a moment to take in what Molly was wearing.

She looked stunning, her white gown trailed behind her and it hugged her chest and stomach before lightly flowing out at her waist. The dress was encrusted with small pearls and lace and she did nothing to conceal the smile she was sporting. She wore an old pair of pearl earrings which she received from her mother, a new pearl necklace to match it, a barrowed pearl clip to hold her lightly curled hair back in a half ponytail (just the way Nate liked it) and finally she wore light blue heels that were hidden under the length of the gown.

After taking only a split second to take in Molly's beautiful appearance, Rachel's eyes snapped over to where Nate was standing. She couldn't help but grin herself when she saw the look on his face…his wide eyes, his disbelieving smile, and she swore she saw him holding back a tear or two in his hazel eyes. He practically radiated excitement and happiness and that’s when Rachel knew for sure.

Molly and Nathanial were going to make it.

-------------------------------------------------

Henry had Rachel in his arms as the pair took in all the people at the reception. The drinks were flowing, the food was splendid, people were laughing and dancing…it was wonderful. Rachel pretended not to notice Grace-Ann and Eric who were quietly talking in the corner…Grace looked kind of apprehensive and Eric was obviously trying to convince her of something. Rachel was only able to hear tidbits of what was being said.

"I miss you….come back with me…love you too…quit baseball…" She gave up trying to hear after a while and turned her attention back to Henry who was speaking to one of Nate's uncles about the economy. Suddenly, Molly appeared.

"Hey…umm, mom, can I talk to you?" Rachel smiled and nodded before detangling herself from Henry's arms who kissed her forehead and let her go.

Rachel followed the bride through the crowds until they were in a secluded area outside.

"You look beautiful tonight, Molly." Rachel told her earnestly. Molly smiled at her mother.

"Thanks…but uhh…the reason I brought you out here was because…I know you talked to Joyce." Rachel's eyes widened and her mind whirled, once again looking for something to say.

"Okay…yeah. I did. And I know it's not my place but I had to say some-" She was cut off when Molly threw herself at her mother; her arms wrapping around her in a tight hug.

It took a moment for Rachel to get over her surprise but once she did, she returned the hug with everything she had.

"I don't know what you said but…I don't really want to know." Molly whispered against her mother. "Thank you though…thank you so much." She whispered again and Rachel let out a small, single laugh when she felt a tear forming behind her eyes.

"I love you so much, Molly." She told her and kissed her cheek. Molly pulled away and wiped her eyes; apparently she had been crying a bit too. "Now, I don't want you to worry anymore about you and Nate, okay?" She told her sternly. "You'll be fine. You can tell in the way he looks at you…the way he talks to you…how he kisses your forehead without really noticing it…" Rachel trailed off at the last comment when she realized that she was no longer only talking about Nate. She was talking about Henry.

Rachel felt her heart flutter a bit when she thought about how Henry acted around her…he was always throwing her little glances and placing small kisses on her head…half the time he didn't even notice it.

While most of Rachel's ex-husbands had claimed to be in love with her, none of them had ever done anything like that before. She felt herself grin and her face heat up and she made a promise to herself.

If she wasn't going to make her marriage work for the sake of Molly or Courtney or Natalie or Grace then she was going to do it for herself. She was lucky. Really lucky to have someone as wonderful as Henry…she loved him and she was going to make her marriage work.

She was going to grow old with Henry…not husband number nine of ten, number eight.

Henry Trove.

"There you two are. I was a little worried." Grace-Ann appeared a few seconds later and Rachel couldn't help but smile a little and make a comment.

"Were you? I didn't think you noticed anything, seeing as how close and intensely you and Eric were talking."

Grace-Ann's face tinged pink and Molly also blushed but for a different reason.

"Yeah…about that, sorry Grace. I should have probably warned you that he would be here…"

"Yeah, a warning would have been nice." Grace muttered, looking down. After a second though, she looked up and the excitement in her eyes was as evident as the smile of her face. "But its all worked out for the best…"

"Really? How?" Molly questioned.

"We talked…and I don't know…we figured that I was done with Paris. I went there, it was great but…lets face it, it's much to far from you guys and way to far from Eric. I missed you guys more then I loved Paris. Plus, I lived out my dream and now it's part of my past. My future is here in the states with you guys…and Eric."

"But Eric lives in Florida…" Grace-Ann nodded and offered a weak smile.

"I'm going back with him for spring training." She told her mother and sister.

They were silent for a while before Molly let out an exasperated sigh.

"Fine. Florida's only a…what? Four hour flight? I guess it's easier to get there whenever I want then it is to get to Paris. Plus, you can get me and Nate tickets for whenever you're in the area, Nate would like that…" She trailed off as she thought to herself before nodding. "Yeah, I can work with this."

Grace-Ann looked at her mother hopefully and Rachel sighed.

"Fine fine. Molly's right. It's closer then Paris and you can expect for Henry to be a regular at the games."

Grace-Ann laughed and grinned at the two and that’s when the three Belling girls heard more footsteps. A blonde head appeared and she was followed by Natalie.

"Do you see this, Nat? They're having a family gathering without us!" Courtney told her older sister, a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Natalie laughed her delicate laugh and smiled at her family.

"See Molly? I told you everything would work out for the best." Natalie scolded her younger triplet. Molly rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, yeah." She spoke but a smile graced her lips and it was accompanied by a teasing tone.

"Hmmm…so today was a total failure." Courtney mused and everyone turned to her, surprise etched into their features'. Courtney sent them a questioning look at their shocked faces before realization dawned on her and she quickly backtracked. "No, no! Not like that! I mean, today was wonderful. The wedding was great and all that; I meant today as in Thanksgiving today." She explained quickly with a little laughed.

"Ohhhh." Natalie spoke with a nod.

"I have to say I agree." Grace-Ann spoke up and Molly nodded.

"Ditto." Molly said.

"Really? I don't think so…" Rachel spoke up and everyone's eyes turned to face their mother.

"How can you say that? We haven't eaten turkey or watched a football game or anything!" Courtney pointed out and Rachel laughed.

"Not true. Wasn't turkey part of the dinner selection?" Everyone rolled their eyes and Rachel laughed again. "But seriously, that’s not what Thanksgiving is about and you all know that. Thanksgiving is about being with family…it's about coming together." She stressed. "And although you may wish otherwise at times, you four are our my family. I love you. Each of you." Courtney and her sisters smiled at their mother before she reached forewords and enveloped her mother in a hug. Grace-Ann, Natalie, and Molly followed suit and Rachel kissed each of them on the head before pulling them closer and smiling.

They may have ups and downs and Rachel's maternal instinct may not always be there, but in the end they're a family who loves each other. And family always comes together.

.The End.
