If I can get 10 review or more on this chapter i'll post the next one. Sorry again about the wait!
Falling In Love With You
Chapter Two
I awoke with a mild headache and took a glance around the room and sighed. I didn’t want to go to school today. I don’t know why, I just didn’t want to go.
It was now my third week at Rayne Hill High and Carly and I were like best friends now. I also met some of her other friends, Lena Marshall who was gorgeous to the bone. She has black strait hair with the most amazing blue eyes and she was 5’5, a good 6 or 7 inches taller than me and she was petite in every form. She was just beautiful. She could be a model if she wanted too, and then there was Lena’s brother, Luke. They were twins and he had black hair too, but he had hazel eyes and was about 6 foot even and he loved to play soccer. It was his thing, as he liked to call it.
I was glad I met them. I only told Carly about my diabetes, not Lena or Luke. I didn’t want to tell them yet. I only told Carly was because I felt I could trust her with my whole life and she’s just got this aura around her that tells me that she keeps secrets safe to her heart.
Then there was Jackson.
The first day when I met him, he just looked like he already hated me without getting to know me. And that same day I dreamt of him, but nothing seriously. Just him glaring at me and being mean to me. I sound like another Bella from Twilight, but this is not the case. Ugh. I just wish he would get the glare out his eyes when he sees me. Even though I’m almost a month into this school, he just hates me. Like he wants me to die, but I don’t know, that’s just my opinion.
I rolled out of bed and started towards my bedroom door and then towards my shower. I was so tired and I felt like I could barely walk. I turned the shower on warm and then stripped down and got in. The warm water leaked down my curves and onto my back and I washed my hair softly. The scent of Toasted Vanilla and Sugar filled the bathroom and I sighed. This is how it should be.
As I finished and turned the water off and got my yellow towel, I headed back to my bedroom. I closed the door behind me and this went towards my drawers. I got some underwear and a bra and put them on and shut that drawer and then went towards my closet. I picked out a plain blue t-shirt out and then got some blue jeans that fit my body in every place. I then got some socks and put my chucks on. After I was dressed I went back to my bathroom and fixed my hair. It was wavy today and I thought it looked good. I didn’t put any make-up on and then grabbed my A&E bag, my cell phone and iPod and went downstairs to see my dad at the kitchen table.
“Hey Daddy,” I spoke and he glanced up and smiled gently at me.
“Hey Charlie, you okay today?” he asked me with a hint of concern laced in his voice. I looked at him then nodded. I sat down at the table and picked at my food. I wasn’t really hungry and just didn’t feel like eating. My dad seemed to notice.
“Charlie, you need to eat something. I can’t let you leave this house until you eat something.” He spoke, his voice firm. I nodded and ate a little more. I just didn’t taste okay. I didn’t feel too good either.
After we ate, my dad and I got into his car and took off for school. When we reached the school, dad turned to me and gave me smile.
“Charlie, make sure you go to the nurse’s office and take you insulin. I know for a fact you didn’t at home.” I nodded and got out of the car easily. Dad smiled at me through the window and starting driving away. I looked at the school and immediately saw Carly, Lena and Luke. But then my gaze shifted by Jackson, who didn’t even notice me yet. Thank God. I made my way up to my friends and then took a deep breath and smiled at them.
“Hey guys,” I said and they smiled back.
“Hey Charlotte,” Lena said. Lena preferred to call me by my real name because she thought it was a beautiful name and it could be famous one day. If only she knew I may never get that one day.
“Hey Lena, Luke, and Carly,” I said aloud.
“So what are you doing this weekend, Charlie?” Luke asked me. I glanced around again and then back at my friends.
“Noth-” I stopped and then remembered that I have a doctor’s appointment on Saturday and then I was suppose to stay overnight for some testing. I sighed and spoke again, “I’m busy. My dad and I have to go out of town this weekend,” I said and Lena and Luke seemed to buy it but Carly didn’t. Carly, Lena, Luke and I started into the building and then towards class. We said goodbye to Lena and Luke and then it was just me and Carly.
“So what do you really have to do this weekend?” she asked me, her eyebrows raised. I glanced at her and sighed.
“I have to go to the hospital and do some testing for an overnight thing, just to check myself out. See if I’m taking good care of myself and what not. It’s not like I haven’t done it before,” I told her walking to English.
Carly looked at me and spoke, “How’d you get you know what?” she asked. ‘You know what’ was my Diabetes. I didn’t want her to say it in public, in front of people we all knew and what not.
“I was born with it, but I didn’t find out until I was in that car accident,” I told her. Carly nodded.
“Would it be awkward if I could come with you? Just for you know moral support?” she said, smiling. I laughed and nodded.
“If you want too.” I said and then the bell rang. I then noticed I had forgotten to go to the nurse. Oh it can wait. It’s not like I haven’t missed a shot before, which I have but I fainted at home, but I’ll just make sure I’m okay…hopefully.
As I got to my seat in English I noticed that Jackson was looking at me. Oh, gosh. Here we go again this time. I really wasn’t in the mood to put up with him today. I made sure I paid attention, but my eyes kept closing. I was so tired.
“Charlie?” I heard a voice and looked up and saw Ms. Ramsey talking to me with a look of concern on her face.
“Yeah?” I asked softly.
“Can you answer the question?” she asked and I looked around and saw everyone staring at me, including Jackson. I looked back up at Ms. Ramsey and sighed.
“What was the question, Ms. Ramsey?” I asked her. She looked at me and smiled softly.
“In ‘Night’, how did Eliezer’s father die?” she asked me. Night. The book we finished a few days ago. I sighed and thought back. I was really paying attention to it, but still managed to read it. I sighed in defense and looked at her.
“I don’t know,” I murmured. She sighed and then looked at Jackson.
“Jackson, do you know?” she asked him.
“He was hit on the head by one of the officer’s and died. His father’s last words were ‘Eliezer.’” Jackson replied and I looked at him and then towards Ms. Ramsey. She smiled and looked at everyone else.
“Correct, now moving on, Eliezer…” she rambled on and I continued to look at Jackson. He turned towards me and then just looked and not glared. I suppressed a sigh and turned back to the white board with notes on it about ‘Night’ and wrote them down. I could feel Jackson’s eyes on me as I did this, but I was too tired to say something.
After English I made my way to math and got inside and saw Carly and Lena chatting away like little girls. I sat down next to Carly and then worked myself into their conversation.
“All I’m saying is, that shirt was so ugly,” Lena muttered. Carly laughed and shook her head and smiled at me.
“What’s going on?” I asked softly.
Carly smiled, “Lena is being dramatic about some skirt she saw Annabelle Tomas wear the other day at the mall,” she said.
“It was yesterday Carly! Do you ever listen!?” Lena asked, grasping our desks.
“Is that a trick question?” Carly asked. I laughed and Lena did too and slapped her. Carly giggled and we saw the teacher come in. As we sat through class going over the homework, I looked at my cell phone to check the time. It was time for lunch. Right then the bell rang and we started getting up. Carly stood up before me and then I made sure I stood straight and followed her to the cafeteria.
When we got our food and started making our way towards the cafeteria and stumbled slightly. Carly didn’t notice because she was walking in front of me. As we got to the table I immediately placed my tray down and sat. My head was spinning.
“Whoa, Charlotte, are you okay?” Lena asked, as she noticed my distress. I nodded and kept my head down.
“She’s just got a headache,” Carly said, covering for me.
“If you’re sure,” Luke said. We both nodded and began eating our lunch.
“Why is Jackson Andrews staring at our table?” Lena asked. I glanced behind me and there he was sitting with his friends, staring at us, more like me.
“He’s not staring at us, he’s staring at Charlie,” Luke noticed. Jackson turned his gaze on me to Trevor and then nodded to what he was saying. I looked back at my food and suddenly felt the urge to throw up. I looked at Carly, who saw my facial expression.
“I think I’m going to puke,” I muttered, my hand clasped over my mouth. She nodded and told Lena and Luke that we’d be right back and we were going to the bathroom. I felt Jackson’s eyes on my back and looked at him. He looked confused and then looked back at his tray of food.
Carly and I walked to the bathroom, which I immediately got into the big stall and starting throwing up. I groaned and Carly held my hair back.
“What’s going on Charlie?” she asked me, concern in her voice.
“I didn’t take my insulin today,” I spoke softly and cringed when I had to throw up again.
“What!? You know that’s bad! Why didn’t you take it!?” she yelled at me. I looked at her with tears in my eyes and shook my head.
“I don’t know why, Carly but I need to go to the nurse. I don’t feel good,” I said standing up and then falling back down. I couldn’t even stand up. Carly tried to help me up but it was useless. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and dialed my dad’s number. It rang a few times before he answers.
“Charlie!? Why are you calling me? Are you okay?” he asked, worrying like always.
“I don’t feel good,” I whispered into the phone.
“Charlie, did you go to the nurse and take your insulin?” he asked and I didn’t answer him. That only made him angry. “Charlotte Elizabeth Grey did you or did you not take your medicine?” he asked into the phone. I sighed and looked at Carly.
“No, sir.” I spoke and I heard my dad sigh.
“Get to that office right now and take it or I’m going down there myself. I will personally call Ms. Wright and make sure you have been down there in ten minutes. I’m not kidding Charlie. I’m not going to lose you because of this. Do it now.” He said.
“I’m sorry Daddy, I didn’t mean too.” I said crying my eyes out. My dad sighed and then spoke to me.
“Just go to the nurse, baby,” he said. “I love you Charlie Bear.” And he hung up. I hung up my phone too and stood again and Carly got a hold of me this time.
“You good to start walking?” she asked. I nodded and flushed the toilet and then I washed my mouth out with water and then we walked out of the bathroom and then towards the nurses office.
“Charlie what would happen if you didn’t take it all day long?” she asked quietly after a few seconds of walking and holding up my right side.
“I would probably be dehydrated or my blood pressure would be extremely low and I would pass out and sleep all day. It’s happened before.” I spoke my voice trailing. Carly nodded and looked up. We came face to face with the last person we ever expected to see.
Jackson.
