Unanswered Questions…

How can you find that glint of hope,
even though it’s hard to cope,
with fake smiles and lie after lie,
all you think is that you wanna die.

How do you find that single face,
the smile that puts you in place,
even when you feel everything’s gone,
when it’s cold and you’re all alone.

How do you find that sliver of love,
that can fly away just like a dove,
that shall die if you hold it too tightly,
or flutter away if you hold it too lightly.

How can you really know what is real,
when you also know that you can’t really feel,
when someone comes along that’s true,
and you assume that they’ll leave you feeling blue.

How do you know when it’s truly right,
when you know you should put up a fight,
before that shimmer disappears into night,
and flies away from you like an ascending kite.

All these never ending questions that may never be answered,
These questions that linger not too far from heart.
These questions that will have to find answers themselves,
While you try not to fall apart.
