Her lips start to swell,

Her eyes turn black and blue,

She tries hard not to cry

As she stares up at you.

How could you do this to me?

Her expression begs to ask;

But she can’t see the pain

That hides behind your mask.

You want to say you’re sorry,

And fight away her fears,

But now you are the monster –

You’re the cause of all her tears.

And when you try to speak,

You choke upon your words,

Your throat starts closing up,

So just a faint squeak is heard.

So you turn your back, and

Walk away without a sound,

Your conscience disappears,

And is nowhere to be found.

You wish you could recall

Why you became this way;

Hurting all your loved ones

And scaring them away.

Now you’re finally alone,

And you begin to breath.

You put your head in your hands,

And softly start to weep.
