Two weeks later, he was holding my sides and I was standing by my car. Since we had rented our house out, we were going back to the same place. Kamerin was coming with me for couple weeks before my parents would meet us up there with my siblings. We were supposed to be putting everything back to normal and getting everything cleaned up, but us as teens in love had something else on our minds.
We were parked outside my house, and this was the first time Kamerin had ever been there. I took his hand and led him inside, opening the door from the side porch and entering with him trailing behind me.

We laid in my old room, which would be mine again, looking at the paint and the colors that were left behind. We were wrapped together in the blanket we had brought with us, in the middle of my room and it was the last full night I'd have with him. He was leaving on a plane the next day to go back home.
Without me.
Our song was playing on the radio, radiating in my ears. One of his hands was on the small of my back and the other was looped and entertwined with mine. My other hand was on his chest, right under his collar bone.
"When I leave you tomorrow, my heart will be here with you," Kamerin said, kissing me again for the millionth time this week. He'd be gone before my parents would even be home.
"My heart will go with you, baby, and it'll be in your arms forever even if we're too far away." And I was pulled closer to him.
We lay there longer, just being there together and I fell asleep next to him as I had done for a while now. I was too used to being near him, smelling his sweet breath and feeling his heart beat.

But when the sun came up the next morning, neither of us could believe the news that we found.
There had been a lightning storm in Maryland. All planes were stuck here or there until everything could be deemed safe, which meant Kamerin was staying with me. And my family, who had just gotten home.
Me and Kamerin scrambled to get clothes on, not wanting my parents to know what we had been doing for the past two weeks. But what we didn't know is that they would find out soon enough.
Holding my hand and leading me through the house, Andrew was telling me and Kamerin everything he missed while we were living in Maryland. He looked up to Kamerin like he would to a brother, but much more so since he was unrelated but still trusted by me. He was so excited that Kamerin was staying, but didn't realize why we were back. But neither did I.
"Tay, Kamerin, Andrew..." Tanya was telling us what was happening. It was only us three, because the other kids went to my mom's house for the summer. "Your grandmother died... that's why we moved back, your grandfather needs us."
I almost fell, caught just in time by Kamerin. He kissed my neck, right there in front of Tanya. It had happened before, but the shiver through my spine must've set something off in her mind.
