The trees are bare and cold
Their branches humble and dry
Limbs reaching faithfully to God
Leaves left to fall in repentance
Devotedly waiting for judgment
Time passes as though in pain
Seeds of uncertainty planted
Buds of doubt begin to grow
Sins of disloyalty seen
The heart of the ground turns cold
Loving skies refuse to shine
Wind's soft hand becomes clawed
Nature deals punishment
Scarred and wounded are the trees
Healing slowly, time moves
Soft soil beneath the earth
Warm sun running through sky
Wind blows, a mother's whisper
Tranquil harmony
The trees are bare and cold
Their branches humble and dry
Limbs reaching faithfully to God
Leaves left to fall in repentance
Loyally waiting for judgment
Time passes, as though alone
Birds singing of journeys to come
Longings emerge within the trees
Yearnings of soils afar
The heart of the ground turns cold
Loving skies refuse to shine
Wind's soft hand becomes claws
Nature deals punishment
Ravaged and gouged are the trees
Once again disloyal
Punishment once again delt
Trees grow bent and crooked
Forever bearing their treason
Nature ceases her fury
The trees are bare and cold
Their branches humble and dry
Limbs reaching faithfully to God
Leaves left to fall in repentance
Warily waiting for judgment
Time passes, as though in despair
The trees wooden soul; splinting and burned
A resentment grows inside them for God
Leaves allowed to grow fully
The heart of the ground turns cold
Loving skies refuse to shine
Wind's soft hand becomes clawed
Nature deals punishment
All trees' bark is stripped.
Every root has been poisoned
Lightning flashes; a spear of divinity
Crashing through their very being
The trees are naked and cold
Their branches broken and dry
Limbs trying to reach for God
Leaves only growing in death
Fearing the day of judgment
