Merry almost Christmas, everyone! Super short, but this idea was haunting me for awhile...
Leslie had always been afraid of the dark,. It was one of thoose fearsyou couldn't control, no matter how much you tried. She had roughly 20 nightlights in her room alone.
On a night with no moon, the power went out. Leslie screamed horribly until her hand found the flashlight she always kept near her. As soon as she flicked the swich, her room was filled with light.
She sobbed uncontrollably fr a bit longer, and then she got enough of a hold on her self to stand.
"Stupid baby, can't even handle a damn power outage." She muttered, trying to make herself feel brave. Grabbing a few more flashlights, she hid under her covers.
What happened next was... disputable. The parents, who had gone out for the evening, came home to find there house burning. They called 911 immediately. Somehow, Leslie survived. But she was badly changed.
She sat in darkness all the time. Any type of light horrified her, due to the fire. To this day, no one knows what happened. But people, of course, had there suspicions.
One (the most likely one) is that Leslie lit a candle and accidently knocked it over. It fell onto something flammable and the fire grew before she could stop it.
Another option was that Leslie was crazy. Desprete for more light, she set fire to her own house.
The last option is so impropable that no one-save a superstitious few- bothers to consider it. As Leslie was being hauled out of the house, she kept muttering about a "fire lady." A psychic was brought on scene and she confirmed an evil presence.
Do you belive it? You're power just went out, didn't it?
Does it feel like someone's watching you?
