HAPPY DROWNING

Sailing the tsunami
I roped my leg to a board
dislocated from the craft
went skydiving into the sea.

Touched the ceiling with my fingertips:
as the second thought emerged.
But 'twas blinded by a submarine
and torpedoed further down.

My floodgates snapped like a nutcracker
and let the water in my brain
while the mayor's daughter cut the ribbon
and buried my lungs alive.

The deep blue sea goes minstrel
When I passed the eight-legged puss.
I met my guide, the angler fish
that glow-in-the-dark hunchback

What brought me to my bed: The sub-zero floor.
you'll see me again if you raise me up,
but beseech you, drone, let me burrow a while
so I can crack through the core.

And drown some more.
