Roaring Through Town

Hit the dashboard and yell my name

You know it’ll never be the same

Punch the gas and yank the wheel

Everyone hears those tires squeal

You roaring through Main Street

God help anyone that you meet

That big ass truck doesn’t even know

Anything but that dam word go

You thought I would never leave you

Despite all those things you do

They see you coming from a mile away

Roaring down the street, middle of the day

You’re yelling at everyone you see

Coming through town trying to find me

I’ll bet your face is good and red

How I wish you were down and dead

You pull up to the diner and get out

All anyone hears is your shouts

Turn around and kick the tires

They all know you’re just a liar

My car rolled out of town a while ago

That’s all you’ll ever know

I promise to come back for another try

But when I see you, I’ll drive on by
