frosted outside,

painfully cold,

beyond the tolerance

of warm human flesh.

we yield to it,

becoming in process

monstrosities of knitted gear,

we waddle,

toe-to-chin wrapped up -

and find at least,

in the bitter cold,

a touch of warmth

in each other's hands.
