Far Away

I remember I woke to your voice

Next to my ear, barely a noise

I knew you were coming

I heard your feet running

And with the least audible breath

You whispered to me you’d left

I knew you had for I saw you go

Heard your feet crunch the snow

You walk away and lay down again

Making me wonder where you’d been

I want to you to come stay next to me

Why is that so hard for you to see?

I want you to wake up and find

That I’ve been here the whole time

Waiting on you to realize I’m near

Don’t go away, that’s what I fear

I want you to grasp that I’ll be there

Waiting on you to realize I care

Just tell me one reason why

And I’ll go away without another try

But please don’t just lie down

Without even a sound

You took my breath so far away

Now all I want is for you to stay
