Hitomi: Huh… I’m surprised on how much attention this story’s gotten so far. Seriously, I wasn’t expecting this.
But… Thank you very much for taking your time to read this, I appreciate it. My writing in humor is still a weak point… Not to mention I still have trouble naming the male lead in this (so, don’t be surprised if I do change the name)… But I’ll do my best.
To JD, let me make this clear… I am NOT, God forbid, naming the male lead Wix (which is short for Wixanmortomieronaplintantior) and that’s final. It sounds like a cleaning product. I can understand using this name in a parody, but this isn’t one. Besides, I don’t think Naomi will be able to him seriously without going into a hysterical laughing fit.
Guardian Devil
Duty II
Flip Side
(Like the other side of a coin, another point of view tells the story.)
The nine realms of Hell was a place one would not want to place themselves into. It was a world where people have damned themselves into this location by committing transgressions that were wrong in society.
Within the world of Hell were sinful souls being tortured by countless devils, but they were only doing their jobs because of what these people have done when they were living. Offenders of all sorts of varieties were put into a specific part of Hell, receiving the karma they so deserved ages past. And as one would descend down the realms, the temperature would slowly fall from being scorching hot to freezing cold.
We now enter the ninth circle of Hell, which is the home of those who became traitors. Because of the fact that there are levels on how severe the betrayal was, the ninth circle was divided into four rounds. This was also the home of Lucifer, or Satan, the ultimate evil in the world.
However, it seems that there was something happening today…
“Shit, Lucifer! We all know you reside in this place, being the ultimate evil and all, but… Could you PLEASE do something about this!? It's freezing here, man, and this is HELL we're talking about!” A young male voice complained at the epitome of Evil, sneezing right after.
Teeth chattering and body shivering, red eyes mustered a sharp glare at the Prince of Sins. Of course, it was hard to take the male seriously as his arms—and black, feathery wings—hugged around his body in an attempt to keep himself warm. Though the devil in question was wearing white pants and black shoes, his top was a sleeveless black shirt, which explained why he was bickering of the freezing temperature. For some reason, his right shoulder was bandaged up. His hair, which was white, was spiked up in most places save for the bangs that fell onto his right eye.
“Well, you should’ve brought your jacket with you since you knew you were going to be down here.” Lucifer scoffed idly from his icy throne, examining one of his hands with bored, neon blue eyes.
“No, I didn’t, you asshole, and you know it!” He spat venomously in reply, lips curled into a snarl as he pointed a finger at him accusingly. “You forcefully summoned me down here against my will with your magic while I was busy doing my duties to keep the sinners in the higher realms of Hell in line! That’s also why I didn’t bring my jacket because, unlike down here and those past the fifth circle mark, it’s actually warm up there!”
“I swear… I wonder if you’re really a devil at all, Yuukio, if you can’t deal with the cold when going down to the lower circles.” The sin prince shook his head of spiky, black hair at this, but he smirked as he saw the other devil fuming in anger at the remark.
“Oh, shut up! Just tell me why you summoned me down here, you bastard!” Yuukio shook his fist at him.
“Do you really want to know that badly?”
“What kind of a stupid question is that?!”
“Well, the thing is, I thought you already knew why you would be down here.”
“Guess what, Luci?” Yuukio dared to go up to him and looked at him in the eye, jabbing his chest with a finger. “I don’t! Now, stop beating around the bush and tell already! I have no time for this!”
“Fine, you twit. My, my, you’re such a killjoy.”
“Why you—”
“All right, I’ll tell you. Playtime’s over, so, I might as well get serious.” Lucifer’s face straightened into its default expression, which was calm and composed. “I’ll tell you why I summoned you down here because it is extremely important.”
Backing away from the older male, Yuukio felt his own body tense up, hands clenching into tights fists on both sides. Anxiety was now building in the air as a big pressure, making the ninth circle go colder than its norm if that was even possible, and a long, eerie silence settled itself.
It was best for many to listen to Lucifer and Yuukio was already aware of that. And so, he stood there, listening intently as possible on what Satan was going to say.
Unexpectedly, Lucifer went from cool to being absolutely enraged as he roared at Yuukio, “You’re trying to overthrow me, so, you can become the next leader of Hell! I know you are, you jackass, don’t even try to hide it from me!”
This, of course, sent Yuukio crashing to the floor because this was not the reason he was waiting for to hear.
“ARE YOU ON CRACK?!” Yuukio retorted with a shriek, getting up as he looked at Lucifer with a face that mixed with bewildered and crazy. “WHY WOULD I TRY TO OVERTHROW YOU, MORON?! I DON’T WANT YOUR POWER!”
“You KNOW what you did!” He shot back, sending him quite the murderous glare anyone could ever witness from Lucifer.
“Wha— What did I do?! I don’t even know what the Hell you’re talking about!”
He didn’t get his question answered after that because Yuukio found himself getting kicked out of Hell to the intersection bridges leading to specific realms, crashing onto the floor face first.
“And you’re banished to Earth!” Lucifer hollered loudly with finality in his voice as he disappeared into the portal.
“At least give me my jacket before you kick my ass out, you selfish prick!” He bellowed indignantly to the direction where one of bridges led to Hell as he got up.
The next thing he knew, a red and white blur came into his direction and smacked him right on the head. When he looked, it turned out to be his jacket.
“Well, fuck you too, Luci!” Putting on his jacket (it was up to his thighs in length) and hiding his wings in it, he flipped the bird to Lucifer and all of Hell.
What do you want, you punks?! Oh, right. The name’s Yuukio and I’m a devil; yeah, a real devil. I’m someone who is—well, was—working under that asshole known as Lucifer. I may look twenty, but I’m actually two hundred years old.
Heading down to the bridge which would lead to the mortal world, realization dawned on him on why things have suddenly turned out to be like this.
“I see, the reason why I got kicked out is… Oh, it’s THAT, isn’t it?” He mused, shaking his head as he grinned in amusement. “Well, fine, I see how it is… Least I got some, tapping that motherfucker when I had the chance to.”
While he walked onto the long passage alone, he was wondering on what he would do with his life now since he was exiled from Hell for good. After quite some time, he arrived to the portal. And, on the other side of it, was a large orb of green and blue.
“Might as well cause some trouble on Earth to spite him and, plus, I was getting bored in Hell, anyway, living that life.” Looking back from where he came, Yuukio was wearing a feral smirk on his face.
As he said this, back in Hell, Lucifer was muttering under his breath as if in paranoia, “That bastard is trying to overthrow me, I swear…”
“I’m not gonna be the one who’ll get in trouble, though, heh heh heh~” Knowing fully well that Lucifer will get his ass bitten by karma one of these because of this, Yuukio was fully set on residing into Earth as he went into the portal and never looked back.
***
Now that he had settled on Earth, he was already causing ruckus all around the place. Currently, he was on the rooftop on one of the houses in his current location, trying to find potential saps that would provide him some entertainment.
“*Os yas I nehw lamron ot nruter ll’uoy dna sdrow ym wollof. Dnammoc yreve ym yebo. Teppup ym won era uoy.” Yuukio mumbled these words, casting this spell onto a boy in his late teens, which would make the innocent bystander his third victim today.
Using his hands as if playing with a marionette, he made the boy go into a clothing store. Moments after, the same guy came out, but in a Gothic Lolita dress with long, wavy ash brown hair as a wig.
“**Enod si krow ruoy. Boj doog.” He whispered with a sadistic tone, trying so hard not to laugh out loud.
When the boy came to, his expression was surprised and horrified when he found himself crossdressing. Cheeks flushing a dark red with embarrassment, the boy—now girl—ran all the way to his house. When the door slammed shut, the devil couldn’t hold it in any longer and started to laugh hysterically. Since he kept himself hidden so well, people could only assume from the laughter that there was a crazy person in the neighborhood; though, they weren’t far from the truth.
With evil glee, Yuukio cast the spell again; this time, on an unsuspecting elderly woman. And again, with his hands, he made her go a hair salon and made her get a Mohawk. When dispelling the incantation, the moment the old female found something to look at her reflection, she screamed an ear piercing shriek that would’ve had you head for the hills.
The devil was clutching his sides in silent laughter, trying not to get it in the open, but his sides and chest were starting to hurt because of it. Doing something like this was never old to him, especially since he had done it in Hell countless times.
Ahhh, works every single time! He thought happily, wiping a tear from his eye. Now, to find yet another idiot to fall for my— These thoughts were cut off as he heard a commotion coming from his left.
Hm? What’s this about? Poking his head out carefully, Yuukio decided to see what was going on.
“Get back here, you bitch!”
“We’re going to kill you!”
“Don’t think we’ll let you off easily, not after what you did to us!”
This had really caught his interest. Right before his eyes were three thugs chasing after a girl with auburn red/light brown hair and blue grey eyes. Judging from her appearance, though he wasn’t too sure of it, the girl looked to be in her teens. Whatever the story was between these four, the young female looked like she had put herself in quite the dilemma.
Well, this is attention-catching… Might as well see where I’m going with this. Really having nothing to do, except manipulating people to do as he pleases, the devil decided to follow them. Since he couldn’t use his wings to carry him because of people having suspicions, he ran and jumped from rooftop to rooftop.
Seeing the girl and thugs go into one of the alleyways, Yuukio dropped down to the ground. But this was only to climb up to the roofs of the buildings here without anyone noticing. He went from one building roof to another, trying to hurry because he had to see what the outcome would be.
When Yuukio had finally landed on a shop’s rooftop, the thugs had the girl right up against the wall with no room to escape.
His lips curled into a sly smile, having an idea in his mind that would provide him some amusement.
Well then, since I’m already here… Might as well have some fun.
Hitomi: Done with the second chapter!
I named the character Yuukio since it means “Gets what he wants.” Since Yuukio is the type of person who manipulates people for fun in order to ease his boredom… Well, self-explanatory, really. But I don’t know, I might change the name. Not too sure about it, though.
And right…
Footnotes:
* “You are my puppet. Follow my words and you’ll return to normal when I say so.”
** “Good job. Your work is done.”
That’s the spell he uses to manipulate people as he pleases. And the second footnote is when he casts the spell off of his victims.
The most fun I had writing was the interaction between Yuukio and Lucifer. The reason why they’re like that is because they’re close… *coughs*
Anyway, that’s all for now! *waves* Let’s see how this story is going to progress…
