A/N: Hello everyone! Yes I know, it's kind of stupid to start a new story, but this one is SPECIAL. Why? Well. Because! My buddies and I thought this up together. The eight main characters in this (the Watsons) are pretty much my bestest friends everrr. (well. not really. i only know one of them in real life, haha, but they are still super cool!)

THIS ONE'S DEDICATED TO..."my siblings": Skye, Dario, Arisa, Sunny, Ari, Darlene, and Justin. Oh and also to Juliet, who helped edit this and motivates me. She also helps think of ideas for this, haha. Guess you could call her my co-writer. :) Props to her for the title and the summary, by the way. C:

COOKIES FOR WHOEVER GUESSES WHICH WATSON GIRL IS BASED OFF ME. (does not apply to those who already knowww)

Summary: "Why..." she began, her voice dying, not being able to say it. "Why what?" Justin said, reaching out to his youngest sister. "Why would you risk so much, just to have me back?" she asked. The answer was simple. "Because we are related."

AND ACTIONNN.

--x-xxx---

Laughter was the predominant sound heard at the Watson residence. It was always present, whether it sounded from the living room, where the younger kids spent their time playing games; or from the dining room, where the large family ate (and occasionally – had food fights).

Yes, the Watsons were a generally happy family.

However, this day in particular was different. There were no laughs; not even smiles. In fact, nobody was talking, except for Justin.

“Guys,” the oldest of the family, at 20, said. “Stop being so gloomy. Moving won’t be that bad.” There was no response from the seven others in the room. Just blank stares; 14 piercing blue eyes gazing back at the head of the family. Justin sighed.

“Fine. Be that way. But you guys know that this job is good for us. Think about it, we’ll have more than one bathroom. And you won’t have to sleep on the couch anymore, Ayprille.”

“But I like my couch,” the youngest girl said. “It holds memories.”

“Yeah, but wouldn’t you like a real bed to sleep in? And a room you could call your own?”

“You mean a room that we’d have to share. There’s no way we can find an affordable house with eight bedrooms,” the always logical Katie said. The others nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, and I don’t want to share a room with Liz! She’s a slob and doesn’t even come home until like, two in the morning!” Casey protested.

“Hey! It’s not like I’m going to go to sleep before you do. Who knows what kind of prank you’ll pull?” Liz countered. Justin opened his mouth to tell them to shut up but was interrupted yet again.

“And John snores. I can hear him from all the way down the hall.” Korynne shot a glare towards her younger brother, who sniggered.

“I’ll have you know that he does that one purpose, just to annoy you guys. Which he should stop!” Justin looked over to John, whose slight smile of satisfaction had faded.

“Yeah. Seriously, John,” Kory said, rolling her eyes. She was sitting right next to her twin sister, and texting her best friend at the same time.

“Do you have to smack your gum so loud? It’s annoying,” John glared at Kory, who only blew an enormous bubble and popped it in response.

“Cut the fighting, guys,” Justin attempted to keep the peace.

“What if we don’t want to?” Casey retorted rudely.

“Well you’re going to!” Justin shouted, making his seven younger siblings shut up immediately. “We’re moving whether you like it or not. Now go finish packing.”

The somber children dispersed and went to do as they were told. No, this was not a happy day for the Watsons. Not at all.

A FEW WEEKS LATER…

“Okay, you guys, here’s the situation on rooms.”

The eight Watsons had just arrived at their new home, and were currently gathered in the spacious front yard. The two sets of twins sat on the only benches in sight; Katie and John on one and Korynne and Kory seated at the other. In the grass sat Ayprille, next to Casey and Liz. Justin stood as the center of attention, and continued to speak.

“There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms in this house. Groan all you want, but this will be better than our previous home.” Justin examined the faces of his siblings. Not one of them spoke.

“Now, this is how it’s going to work. John gets his own room because he’s the only boy besides me. So do I because I’m the adult and need my own room.”

“Yes!” John was obviously happy to hear this.

“Now. Girls, you will all share a room with one other person. I was going to assign rooms, but I guess I’ll let you guys pick. But please don’t argue. Okay? Good. Now…go!”

The scene instantly turned into bedlam. The six girls were running around frantically trying to figure out whom to share rooms with. Five long minutes passed, and Justin and John were getting impatient.

“My GOD, you guys! Hurry it up!” John complained.

“Shut it, Johnny-boy,” Kory responded, receiving a glare from Justin and a smack on the head from John. Grunting from the brunt of the attack, she fixed her always perfect hair and promptly stuck her tongue out at her younger brother.

“Guys, stop. Sit back down. You should be done by now.” Everyone obliged and prepared for the moment of truth.

Choosing to go from youngest to oldest, Justin spoke, “Ayprille, who are you sharing a room with?”

The energetic raven-haired girl looked at each of her sisters, and then said, “Korynne. No wait – yes. No? Yes. Huh? Hold on…” Liz rolled her eyes and Casey stifled a giggle. “Okay! I got it. Korynne’s my room buddy.” Ayprille grinned as she said this. Korynne gave her a high five.

“Okay. Katie?” Justin glanced at the next oldest.

“Uhh…” She looked conflicted. “I guess Liz. No wait, she stays up really late. Then…Kory? No, she’s a slob. Oh, okay, how about Casey! She’s organized, and she likes to sleep!” Katie finally finished.

Yeah, but she’ll also draw on your face in the middle of the night,” Kory murmured under her breath.

“Huh?” Katie asked.

“Oh, nothing! We’ll be awesome roommates! Just don’t touch my David Archuleta poster, or I’ll murder you,” Casey stated as the patted Katie on the back.

“So that leaves Kory and Liz. You guys okay with that?”

“Sure. Kory’s awesome. Better than Casey, anyway,” Liz said.

“Not like that’s hard,” Kory added.

“Hey!”

“Now that that’s settled,” Justin raised his voice before another argument could break out. “Everyone go kill each other for the best rooms. But I get the master, okay? Ready…set…go!” The kids ran to the house and tumbled up the stairs like an elephant stampede.

Casey practically dragged Katie into the first room they saw, which was actually pretty nice.

“Are we claiming this one?” Katie asked.

“Hmm. Is the bathroom close by?” They stuck their heads out the door and saw a restroom directly across the hall. “Awesome! CLAIMED!” Casey shouted. “Do you have paper, Katie?”

“No, why?”

Casey pulled out a black sharpie marker. “Because we need to mark our territory. Just like dogs! Only with signs and not pee.” Katie laughed and started searching the vacant room for paper (not that she was going to find any, the room was completely empty).

Meanwhile, John was trying to decide whether he wanted his room to be isolated or part of the group. If he chose isolated he wouldn’t have to worry about Casey’s pranks, or Liz’s loud music. But if he was closer he could annoy them easier. Plus, whether they believed it or not, John actually liked his sisters.

Weighing his options once more, he finally decided on a small, cozy room at the end of the hall. It was far enough away from Casey but still close enough to not be left out. Plus, it had a huge bay window that overlooked the backyard. John turned when he heard footsteps and saw Ayprille and Korynne standing in the doorway.

“Ugh! We wanted this room!” Ayprille stomped her feet in protest and Korynne crossed her arms.

“Too bad, so sad! I got here first,” John replied.

“Then we’ll just have to steal it! Minions, attack!”

“SWIPER, NO SWIPING! SWIPER, NO SWIPING! SWIPER, NO SWIPING!” John shouted, pointing at his two sisters as they attacked.

“Aw, man!” they said in unison. After some laughs, the two ran off in search of remaining rooms, leaving the thirteen-year-old boy to start unpacking.

Back in Katie and Casey’s room, the two had “marked their territory” by writing directly on the door since they didn’t have paper. Of course Justin got super mad and made them wash it off, but that was proving to be rather difficult.

“I told you using sharpie was a bad idea!” Katie cried hysterically while scrubbing at her name on the door. She wasn’t usually the bad kid.

“Well excuuuuuse me. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal. I mean, it’s our room, not Justin’s. We should be allowed to vandalize the door as much as we want!”

Katie shrugged and kept scrubbing.

“What are you guys doing?” Ayprille approached her sisters.

“Washing off the door that we worked so hard on beautifying,” Casey said; the annoyances clear in her voice.

“Oh. Can I help?” she asked cheerfully. The two older girls exchanged glances that said, ‘is she crazy?!’ Katie shrugged.

“Um, sureeeeeee!” Casey began, drawing out the last word in an attempt to sound ‘innocent’. “Actually, it’s so much fun; I think I’ll go get all the others to come help too. Here, take my sponge,” she said. After Ayprille took the sponge from her, she bolted down the hallway.

“She’s not coming back, is she?” Ayprille asked, sitting down to help Katie.

“Nope.”

Liz shuddered. It was Monday. And not only that, but she wasn’t even allowed to sleep in. Justin was making her take Kory, Korynne, and Casey to school. Plus, she had job interviews later that she was not looking forward to.

But back to the whole school thing. She thought when she’d graduated the year before, she was done waking up at six. But nooooo, her younger siblings had to ruin that. Of course, she didn’t have it as bad as the other six of them, since she didn’t actually have to go to a new school. But still. She wasn’t a morning person.

And neither was Casey, apparently, because an hour later when they were all downstairs eating breakfast (except for Justin, he was at work); she literally fell asleep in her Lucky Charms cereal.

Everyone was too lazy (and inconsiderate – they seemed to find it extremely funny) to wake her up until one minute before they were planning on leaving.

“Case,” John shook her violently, causing him to go staggering backward when she shot upright.

“What?! Oh, gross! Why is there milk all over my face?” she whined as she felt her (now wet) hair. “I can’t believe you guys! Now we’re going to be late for our first day!

“Correction, you and the wonder twins over there are going to be late. Ayprille, Katie, and I are catching the bus, remember?” John, being the smart-ass he was, pointed out. Casey glared at him ferociously.

“Ugh!” She stormed up the stairs to go wash her face and fix her hair.

“Why do we have to be late, too? Can’t we just leave without her?” Korynne joked. John laughed out loud.

“Do it!” he shouted.

“Guys! That’s mean. We’ll wait,” Kory said. Her always-present pink cell phone rang, indicating a new text message.

“I swear, Kory. You are the girliest person I have ever met,” Ayprille said, shaking her head at her sister’s manicured nails and rhinestone sunglasses. It wasn’t even sunny outside!

“I don’t know, Paris Hilton pretty much takes the cake,” Korynne said. Her retort was followed by a near-perfect ‘that’s hot’ from John, and then fits of laughter from everyone else.

“Oh. We’ll be getting on the bus in like 30 minutes. I should get dressed,” Katie said. The three youngest were still in their pajamas, since school started later for them.

“Yeah, same.”

“Ditto.”

Ayprille, John, and Katie waved goodbye to the others and went up the stairs to get ready. Seconds later, Casey came running down them, tripping along the way.

“Lovely entrance,” Liz commented. “Now come on, you guys have first period in ten minutes.”

--x-xxx---

Those ten minutes were the most frightening of Korynne, Kory, and Casey’s entire lives. Why? Because.

LIZ WAS A FREAKING CRAZY DRIVER, THAT’S WHY.

They got pulled over twice – once for speeding, and once for driving halfway on the sidewalk (which was not fun, by the way). Kory would have bet her purple Prada purse that if they’d been on the road for even five more minutes, they’d have gotten pulled over a third time.

Korynne shouted in relief when they finally reached the high school.

“Thank GOD! I thought I was going to DIE!”

“Trust me, we all did,” Casey said, shuddering at the memory. Liz rolled her eyes and waved goodbye as she drove off, tires screeching.

Kory cringed. “How did she even get her license?” Her sisters shrugged.

And then they realized – they were new students, at a new high school, in a completely new place. The days to come were going to be rough.
