For Larry OR You’re Not Listening

I’m comparing you to the challenge.
Of where the mystery lies.
But I am not lying. I
wish you were listening.

This isn’t for my friends, for him
or her, but you.
I don’t know as well as
I hoped.
You arise the feelings I
thought I’d never feel.

These halls and rooms are
empty; these ears without
your voice. I don’t want you
to misunderstand when
I say I miss you

I don’t want this for
the book, the zine,
you’d know what I mean
if you weren’t playing this
crazy game

with no winners, claiming
to be playing with me; you
should know better. I’m debating
whether you really
care.

I am immune to
your sympathy. You’ll write
my lines however you want me.
I cannot lie; I hope
you’ll start listening.
