The Theory of Platonic Displacement and its Effect Upon the Third Party
Seething love
my mortal enemy!
I am displaced
by a man,
I am forgotten
by a friend;
replaced.
I am left to dry
in a subzero gale--
a storm of my
own creation.
Their love
for each other
ignites hatred
and despise
in my compassionate
bones.
A dear friend
taken by lust,
a reprisal
of the past,
but moreso now
a sharp shriek
deafening inside me
at the finality
or great length of time
I will be cut
and cast away.
Desolate is the epiphany
of being used
in times of loneliness,
grief is the notion
of seeing The friend
entwined with another soul,
their mate,
and the innocents scattered
to the four corners
of the Earth.
