I formatted it very prettily, but unfortunately, fictionpress hates me, and refused to post it the way it was formatted. So instead I just went for centering it.
Also, before anyone points it out, the "my self" is intentional.
Obsidian
Endless strands of black
that slide smoothly across my skin.
A raven soaring through the twilight,
bathed in the fast-fading afterglow.
A flower in full bloom,
absorbing my soul with a kiss of velvet –
colors drowning in the endless stretch of starless skies.
I embrace you,
the iciness of your flesh pierces mine.
You're suffocating in the warmth of my tears,
yet your blades never dull.
The darkness of your eyes beckons me,
stealing my innocent soul –
no longer a delicacy.
They don't sparkle, but shine,
drinking in the light
and throwing it back violently,
blinding me.
I'm drawn to you, an addiction,
like waves crashing endlessly into the seashore;
yet the next tide still rises.
I can't see the reflection of this moment,
the face of my self,
within the winter midnight of your essence.
Note: Written last year in English class. Inspired by a piece of obsidian rock, as the name states.
