I looked out the window. I wanted to say something to James but I knew it would be stupid. I sighed and thought about how hard this maybe for her. One minute finding out her boyfriends is messing around with her best friend and then the next finding out that he kept the only picture she had. The one from the beginning out their relationship. It must be horrible to think that you can come back after being dead for a month.

“Uh...” I glared at James. His voice was annoying and I didn’t want him to poke his nose into anything. I know I chose to come here but that was before I knew what he was doing.

“You don't deserve to be alive.” I spat.

“I know. I have done something terrible. I hate the fact I have hurt her.” I rolled my eyes at James’ comment.

“You’re pathetic.” James sighed at my insult and flopped back onto his bed.

“I never liked hurting Addie. She was always so kind to me. She never swore at any one and she was always so scared to do something new. She had a temper and she was rather cold-hearted but inside when she was with me, the one she loved, she was nice, she was relaxed. I loved to see her like that. I was the most important thing in her life and I ruined that. It is my fault she is dead. I let her go home in the dark that night, just because I was too up myself to take her home or to let her stay here. I was too concerned about my own wealth and safety I forgot about hers. I forgot about her.” I blinked at James loud thoughts.

I never knew someone could be so regretful over something that wasn’t even their fault. He had nothing to do with her death. It was part of fate. He just had a helping hand in letting her walk home. If he had driven her maybe, they might be both dead and still loving in harmony. I might never have met her. I might never have fallen in love with her. I might never have...

“Garret?” I looked up at James.

“What” I asked.

“She loves you, you know?” I concentrated on his face. “She is calm around you. She acts like she used to around me. She is relaxed and she doesn’t lose her temper at stuff you say. When you said that you were sorry about what ever happened you she could have shouted at you and said something snotty but she didn’t. She told me about how someone named Garret fell on top of her on her first day and I knew it was you. She always said, you were annoying but I knew in a way she liked you.” He sat up and looked at me properly. “I don’t know if you need my help or not seeing as this whole thing is for you guys as you are dead but if you do need my help in any way. Like a place to stay or my help with getting something please, be my guest.” I nodded and turned away from James. I unfurled my wings and I went to look for Adelaide.

It didn’t take me long to find her. I found her in the middle of a field looking up to the sky but when I found her, she was out cold. I sighed and sat with her. I moved her head to my lap so she was hopefully more comfortable. I looked up, I saw flashes of light, and I hoped with all my might that they wouldn’t find us. I heard Adelaide stir and I look down at her. Her grey orb like eyes fluttered open and looked up at me. She smiled and sat up.

“Uh, hey.” She said sounding embarrassed.

“Nice sleep?” she nodded.

“Um...yeah, I guess” I nodded at her unsure of her positive answer and looked around.

“We should move. Angels are everywhere looking for us.” she nodded but didn’t move. She looked at the floor and then at me.

“We need to go back!” she said sternly.

“What do you mean?” I asked. I was confused to say the least. One minute she wants us to leave and now she wants us to go back.

“We need to go back and ask why he did this and if it’s for the reason of us getting together then they can stop.” She informed me. I frowned.

“Why? We aren’t together and you don’t love me. Addie, you still love James, I know you do.” She smiled at me and my words.

“If I still loved James then why did I blow my top off at him? My reactions to people show off my emotions. You know if I like someone or love them because I dont blow off at them or not much anyway.” I nodded at her. She looked so sad.

“Alright, we will go back but on one condition.” She looked at me. “Do you love me?” my eyes focused in on her wings. At this point, they were changing colour so many times it could give you a headache but when it settles on a dark cherry Red I knew she had her answer.

“I dont know what to tell you.” she whispered. I smiled at her.

“You don’t need to tell me. Your wings tell me all I need to know.” She looked up at me and I just smiled at her.

After a little moment of silence, we got to our feet and took each other hand. We unfurled our wings and flew straight up. The wind against my face was refreshing and nice.

We had to be careful and we stayed up high. Higher than the others, that was looking down for us. We were silent and always holding hands. It was like a perfect date; just we were getting chased buy controlled angels who were set out to kill us.

Garret looked down at me and then he darted vertically upwards. I yelped and I gripped Garret’s hand tighter. We traveled through what I had seen before but this time when we came out the other side, Garret stopped just as the exit. I frowned at him not wanting to let go.

“Let me just check the transport room before we go on” I nodded in silence. Garret stuck his head out. Only enough for his eyes to see the room and the after a couple of minutes he pulled back. “Two guards. Do you think you could take them? I’ll go ahead and get the rest of them. I’ll meet you at the script room.” I nodded. Garret smiled at me and then he lent in and kissed me. “Before we go anywhere, I need to say I love you. I don’t want to lose you and after we have gotten through this I’m going to make love to you, okay?” I nodded.

“Garret?” I said softly. He looked at me. “I...” I couldn't say it. I trailed off and looked at a speck of dust between us. Then I cracked a smile. “You are annoying and sometimes I never get along with you but don't die today because I am going to hold you to that promise of yours, okay?” he smiled as well.

“I’ll take that as a, ‘I love you too’.” I didn’t need to do anything because Garret knew what I wanted and how I felt. He smiled and brought me closer to him. He wrapped his arms around me pulling me into a warming hug, I looked up at him, he kissed me, and I didn’t want to leave the bliss I was going through. I wanted to stay there for the rest of my life in Garret’s arms.
