She breathed in deeply, letting the air out slowly, “All I want to know is if you were at her house over the weekend.” Her voice was low, unintentionally warning him to tread carefully.
He didn’t answer.
“Damn it, where were you this weekend?” She was losing her temper.
He worried his lip, his eyes darting from side to side, “I was at Matt’s. Nowhere near her house.” He was careful with his wording.
Unfortunately for him, she was well aware of his skirting the question, “Who else was there?” She asked offhandedly.
He paused.
She smirked wryly. She had caught him.
