AN: A retooled childhood poem

Condolences

Our condolences to you and those that have lost you

You suffered with grace, fought valiantly

We watched you dragged through hell and back

You always had such hope

You trusted things would get better

If you just held on a little longer

You never gave up, or gave in

Never admitted defeat; constantly going back for more

You inspired people; you inspired me

But in the end this world was too much for you

You became broken; a shell of what you once were

Until you no longer were at all

Our condolences and goodbye to you

My heart

We hardly knew ye

AN: I was always afraid it’d come true.
